Gwen Stefani Gets Blake Shelton To Wear Red Lipstick, Bids Adieu To ‘The Voice’ In New Video

Gwen Stefani said a sad farewell to The Voice during the singing competition’s Season 12 finale, and Blake Shelton isn’t the only one who will be sorry to see her go; many viewers are also going to miss her. However, Gwen is leaving her fans with an amazing parting gift.

Neither Gwen Stefani nor Blake Shelton got to celebrate being the winning coach during the live Season 12 finale of The Voice, and Blake took the loss pretty hard. In an intimate new video that Gwen posted on her YouTube page, Blake tells his girlfriend that he feels like a “loser” after failing to secure his sixth victory on the show. However, Gwen Stefani gets him to take his comment back by reassuring him that she thinks he’s a winner.

Because Blake Shelton didn’t win The Voice coaches’ battle for bragging rights, he has to listen to Alicia Keys gloat about beating him in Gwen Stefani’s video. However, Blake did earn a pretty special participation prize: a smooch from his gorgeous girlfriend. In Gwen’s video, which was filmed on the set of The Voice, she patiently waits for her beau to stop talking so that she can give him a big kiss. The Revlon global ambassador’s bright red lipstick rubs off on Blake’s lips, making his pout match hers. Gwen busts out laughing at Blake’s mini-makeover and films a closeup of it for her fans. You can see the kiss below at about the 3:00 mark.

According to Hollywood Life, Blake Shelton likes to joke that Gwen Stefani’s red lipstick leaves “war wounds” on his face. Gwen also filmed Blake Shelton kissing Carson Daly, but The Voice host managed to avoid getting a battle scar. Blake kissed Carson before Gwen kissed him, so he didn’t transfer any of girlfriend’s lipstick onto Carson’s face.

“Hey, get this,” Blake can be heard saying to Gwen before assaulting Carson’s cheek with his prickly stubble.

“You’re getting too close. It’s getting weird, it’s getting weird,” Carson says as Blake makes a fish-like mouth movement against the side of his face.

Gwen Stefani shared the video on Twitter, and her fans immediately fell in love with it.

“What a gift you are to your devoted fans! Already miss seeing you and Blake together. Happy trails to you both,” wrote one of Gwen’s followers.

“Revlon’s new his/her lipstick is a winner,” another tweeted.

Many of Gwen Stefani’s Twitter followers begged her to return to The Voice in the future, but Blake Shelton’s big Season 12 loss was made even more bittersweet by the revelation that Gwen currently has no plans to return to the show.

“I don’t have any plans to come back,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

However, the No Doubt frontwoman isn’t sitting out next season because she doesn’t want to be on the show; she went on to say that she’s definitely interested in coming back someday. There’s just so much competition for those rotating red chairs, and the producers keep rotating the female singers who sit in them. Miley Cyrus will return next season, and she’ll be joined by former The Voice UK coach Jennifer Hudson. Another American Idol star, Kelly Clarkson, has signed on for Season 14.

“I love being here, I’d love to come back. We’ll see what happens next,” said Gwen Stefani of her hope that she’ll eventually get to return to her seat.

Alicia Keys also has no current plans to appear on a future season of The Voice, but she’s advocating for her good friend Gwen to be given another shot at being a coach. The devoted Team Gwen cheerleader has even said that she would love for Gwen Stefani to steal Blake Shelton’s seat someday.

“Gwen is coming back. We love Gwen. Hopefully Gwen can replace…,” Keys said, pointing to Blake.

However, this isn’t what viewers who enjoy watching Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s flirtatious antics want; they’re praying that The Voice producers will eventually put them out of their misery by letting them see more Shefani.
