‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Trailer Breakdown: 4 Key Moments — Plus, New Pictures From S7

The lead-up to Game of Thrones Season 7 is reaching an exciting climax. With less than eight weeks to go before Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres on July 16 on HBO, anticipation is in full swing.

The wait for the highly anticipated Season 7 trailer has ended, as the Inquisitr previously reported in a complete breakdown of the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer. Throughout the week, Game of Thrones had been ramping up press and promotion for Season 7.

This week, Entertainment Weekly published a spate of new pictures from Game of Thrones Season 7. Some are from a different perspective of the Season 7 images already released by HBO on their Medium page.

Pictures such as Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) sharing a conversation, and Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in the Great Hall, are given a behind-the-scenes perspective in Entertainment Weekly‘s photos. Other pictures offer a fresh and more telling glimpse at Game of Thrones Season 7.

Here is a rundown on the latest pictures from Game of Thrones Season 7.

In a CGI-heavy picture shared by Entertainment Weekly, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is pictured riding one of her gigantic dragons on a fire-ridden battlefield. In another picture, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is shown looking back on his horse.

Jon’s younger sister Arya is also pictured on horseback, though it does not appear they are at the same location. Hopes for a complete Season 7 reunion between the Stark siblings continue to be high.

Entertainment Weekly gave fans a taste of what a House Stark reunion would be like with their exclusive Stark-dedicated, Game of Thrones cover. All of the siblings have not been together in the same place since Game of Thrones‘ very first episode.

New Game of Thrones Season 7 pictures solve mysteries from previously released photos.

A new Game of Thrones Season 7 picture released by Entertainment Weekly of oldest Stark sibling, Jon Snow, does seem to solve at least one mystery from the first round of Season 7 pictures, who Sansa and Littlefinger are peering at from the walls of Winterfell. Jon’s presence in what appears to be the courtyard of Winterfell indicates it could be him Sansa and Littlefinger are discussing, which makes sense. It also makes sense Jon would be looking back at his sister, whether to greet her or say goodbye.

Game of Thrones fans have been expecting Sansa and Littlefinger to be discussing Jon Snow a great deal in Game of Thrones Season 7. Season 6 ended with a mysterious glare between the pair. Will it spell Sansa’s betrayal? Or will Sansa stand by Jon Snow in Game of Thrones Season 7? Only time will tell for certain. However, the trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 proved somewhat insightful on the subject.

What the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer indicates about Littlefinger and Sansa.

In the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer, Littlefinger can be heard telling Sansa that her “father and brothers are gone, yet you stand.” Clearly, Jon Snow is her brother and he is far from gone. As of Game of Thrones Season 7, he is the head of House Stark and the King in the North.

It is not the first time Littlefinger has passive-aggressively disparaged Jon to his sister. He did so on several occasions in Game of Thrones Season 6. Will Season 7 be the one in which Sansa finally sets Littlefinger straight?

While the new pictures from Game of Thrones Season 7 and the new Season 7 poster HBO released are exciting, fans saw more than they ever have of Game of Thrones Season 7 in the first official full-length trailer.

With so much anticipation, it was hard to imagine the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer rising to fan expectations, though it seems to have managed the feat. Fans got a proper glimpse of official footage from Game of Thrones Season 7, and this is a breakdown of four key moments from the trailer.

Trailer Breakdown No. 1: Jon Snow gets down to business as the King in the North.

In the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale, Jon Snow was crowned the King in the North. In the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer, fans can see Jon taking on his new role at Winterfell, among other places.

In two separate scenes, Jon is shown addressing a room full of Northern lords. The scenes look intense and so do the apparent glimpses of Jon and the Wildings going toe-to-toe with something in the snow.

Trailer Breakdown No. 2: Cersei’s Westeros in Game of Thrones Season 7

Cersei’s coup d’état brought Game of Thrones Season 6 to an explosive end. What will Cersei’s Westeros be like when its citizens emerge from the rubble in Game of Thrones Season 7? Will they embrace Cersei? Fear her? Or will it be a blend of both?

The trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 gives fans a minimal taste of life in Westeros. So it remains to be seen if its denizens are waiting for Daenerys to come and save them when Season 7 begins. Instead, the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer focuses on a contemplative conversation between Cersei and her brother Jaime, as she explains the threats they are facing.

Trailer Breakdown No. 3: Daenerys says something epic in the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer.

Whether you want her on the Iron Throne or not, Daenerys’ stirring speeches have been crucial to her popularity, both on and off-screen. The Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer teases that trend will only continue. In the trailer, Daenerys declares she was “born to rule the Seven Kingdoms.” Will she?

Trailer Breakdown No. 4: Tyrion does not get a chance to hold court in the Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer.

While almost all of Game of Thrones characters are shown looking pensive, scared, or amazed, others are heard from. Unfortunately, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) the maestro of clever wording, and witty repartee is not given a chance to really showcase his gift for gab.

Perhaps Game of Thrones is saving that up so fans can have something to look forward to in Season 7? Here is hoping. Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
