Joy-Anna Duggar Wedding Confirmed: Why The Rush?

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have indeed married, turning the rumors into a reality. Some fans might wonder why they rushed the wedding, which was supposedly taking place in October this year.

Joy-Anna weds fiance

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s daughter married her childhood friend on Friday, May 26, at their church in Arkansas. The confirmation comes after the week was flooded with rumors that the couple already tied the knot the previous weekend, which apparently was not the case.

The 19-year-old Duggar daughter and Austin announced their courtship in November last year and their engagement early in March. After almost three months of being engaged, the Duggar family has confirmed via their official Duggar website that Joy-Anna and Austin are now husband and wife.

“What an absolutely wonderful day our family will always treasure. As parents, we could not be more grateful for the godly woman Joy has become, and the loving husband she married! We love you, Joy and Austin and are so happy for you both, as you embark on this exciting journey together!”

People first reported about Joy-Anna and Austin’s wedding. The couple exclusively told the publication that they are happy and excited about finally tying the knot. “Leading up, it was so surreal until I was walking down the aisle and then I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s actually here,'” shared Joy-Anna.

If one considered the long time Joy-Anna and Austin have known each other, it would not seem that their wedding has been rushed. They’ve been friends for 15 years and basically grew up together. As the couple previously told People, they have already experienced a lot together, which includes church ministries, road trips, hiking, and hunting. In addition, courtship in the Duggar family often is a sure lifetime commitment between a couple. With that, it does not take long for them to get engaged and then walk down the aisle to say “I do.”

Aside from that, Joy-Anna shared that she also essentially followed her sisters’ lead. She had watched her sisters go into courtships and even asked their advice and words of wisdom about the things to do and to avoid, and how to make things special. “Showing him how much I appreciate him, it’s been amazing,” Joy-Anna said.

The newlyweds plan to travel for a while for their honeymoon. Their online wedding registry also reveals what their honeymoon would look like, as reported by People, which is full of adventures. Their gift requests include outdoor activity gears, such as sleeping bag, tents, and camping cooking equipment.

Another Duggar wedding on the horizon

In another news, another Duggar wedding is set to take place, probably before the year ends. Joseph Duggar has proposed to Kendra Caldwell at the reception of Joy-Anna’s wedding. The Duggar family has confirmed that the couple is now engaged.

“Our sweet Joe is on the verge of starting his own family,” Michelle and Jim Bob wrote on their website. “We know wonderful days are ahead for Joe and Kendra and we are looking forward to every moment! Our entire family rejoices.”

Joy-Anna and Austin’s wedding will be featured in the upcoming season of Counting On, which is scheduled to premiere on June 12. The new season will also cover the development in Joseph and Kendra’s relationship as they prepare for their wedding. The 19 Kids and Counting spin-off follows the eldest Duggar children as they start with their own families. Jessa and Ben have welcomed a new baby while Jill and Derick are back in Arkansas to prepare for Jill’s delivery. Hopefully, fans would also see some developments with Jana’s love life, and probably pregnancy announcement from Jinger and Jeremy.
