Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani Headed For A Split? Is That The Real Reason She Won’t Return To ‘The Voice’?

Gwen Stefani’s relationship with Blake Shelton might be in trouble. The No Doubt alum is reportedly in denial that her romance is at an end. Is her impending split the real reason she’s taking a break from The Voice next season?

An inside source told Life & Style that Stefani’s romance with the country crooner is on the verge of disaster. Even worse, the No Doubt alum is oblivious to the signs and doesn’t believe her relationship is faltering.

“She wants the world to think everything is perfect with Blake,” the insider shared. “But that’s just not the case anymore. It’s only a matter of time before Gwen and Blake announce a split. At this point, they’re just going through the motions.”

The two allegedly tried to have a child together but failed. The insider claims that their arguments started once Stefani couldn’t get pregnant. The pop star then realized that she and Shelton have less in common than she originally thought.

“Gwen and Blake began to argue more,” the insider explained. “Then she started to realize they’re just too different to spend the rest of their lives together.”

With Stefani’s romance in trouble, her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, is reportedly worried about how the split will impact their three boys — Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 3. He has even offered to watch the boys this summer to give Stefani some time to deal with Shelton.

“Gavin worries that another breakup will cause a lot of emotional despair,” the source stated. “So, he wants to sit down with Gwen and Blake to discuss everything.”

These rumors have not been verified, but Rossdale seemed genuinely happy for Stefani following their divorce in 2015. In speaking about the mother of his three sons, Rossdale called Stefani “incredible” and said that he is “grateful for her every day.”

According to Hollywood Life, Stefani’s romance with Blake Shelton is already at an end. An insider revealed that Stefani is tired of going back and forth between Los Angeles and Oklahoma and finally realized that their romance wasn’t meant to last. She hasn’t announced the split because she is afraid of the media backlash.

That said, Stefani and Shelton have shown no outward signs of a breakup. The two are often photographed looking like one big happy family with her three boys and they continued to flirt throughout Season 12 of The Voice. Stefani even uploaded cute photos of herself and Shelton following most episodes. If they are headed for a breakup, they are doing a great job keeping it a secret.

If Stefani’s relationship with Shelton is fine, then why is she leaving The Voice?

Radar Online reports that Stefani is taking a break from the hit singing competition because she doesn’t want to coach alongside Miley Cyrus. Producers love the idea of pitting Cyrus against Stefani next season, but they couldn’t get Stefani on board.

“Gwen just does not want to be any part of the show when Miley returns,” a source revealed. “They would even throw her a considerable amount of money, but between her and Blake, money really doesn’t matter.”

Stefani isn’t the only coach leaving The Voice after Season 12. ET Canada reports that Alicia Keys is also departing the show and is being replaced by American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson.

“Who knows what the future holds, but I know this one is my final season,” Keys explained. “I am excited for this; it’s like a finale for me. That’s why I’m so passionate about my team.”

Shelton, Cyrus, Hudson and Adam Levine will serve as coaches in Season 13 of The Voice.
