Lindsey Lohan Reflects On Life Away From Hollywood As She Glams It Up At Cannes

Lindsey Lohan showed up at the amfAR Gala Cannes 2017 at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Critics praised the 30-year-old’s look, as she kept it classy in a Grace Kelly-inspired black and white gown accessorized with just a simple pearl choker and a small silver clutch. Her makeup was barely there with only a bold red lipstick and matching manicure complimenting her stylish updo. This week has been the first time that Lindsey has been at a Hollywood gala in quite some time. She’s been seen at several parties during the 79th Cannes Film Festival as she seems to be reforging connections for an imminent return to work.

Lindsey Lohan’s Current Projects

While at the Gala, Lindsey took the time to speak with E! News and talk about the time she has spent away from the limelight. When asked if she missed being around the Hollywood scene, she replied that she did, but at the same time she likes where she is at creatively as she works on making things work on her own. She has several new irons in the fire as she starts to make her return to the big and little screens around the world.

Lindsey has been living in Dubai and London, spending her time traveling between the two places for her creative ventures. She said that she’s going to start filming with Rupert Grint and Nick Frost in the upcoming Sick Note. The new comedy show is set to air this year on Sky Atlantic and a second series was ordered ahead of the broadcast of the first. The first series is ready for broadcast, so it seems that she is joining the second upcoming series.

She also said that she is working on a screenplay. She was overheard discussing the pilot at the Three Six Zero party. She is co-writing it with an unknown partner for development at Netflix. The central focus is on the Russian oligarchy, with three different princesses across different ages.

Reflections on Lessons Learned

E! News also asked Lindsey if she’s learned anything about herself during her time away from Hollywood. The Mean Girls actress took a moment to think before answering.

“I think that there’s a lot of noise that we deal with. So I found a kind of peace in a sort of life working with children…helping other people. That really interests me. I think it’s important for us to recognize that all of this stuff is really fun, really pretty, and really glamorous, and beautiful. But you have to take time for you.”

Lindsey also remarked about how grateful she is for the friends and people she has in her life now.

In an appearance on February 20, 2017, at the daytime talk show The View, Lindsey expressed much the same sentiment. She told the hosts that growing up in the Hollywood industry means growing up fast because the industry moves fast.

“My mother would always tell me to come home and I never listened. I should’ve come home to New York but I was staying in LA. You just have to really take your time with things and find what makes you happy at the end of the day. It’s not always the materialistic things that are going to be there for you in the end.”

Lindsey also mentioned that she would love to play Ariel in a live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, taking to Instagram to showcase her signature red locks in a split image with the mermaid.

That’s not the only idea that LiLo has. She spoke of trying to do a proper sequel to her signature hit, Mean Girls, during an interview with CNN in December of 2016. Lindsey has several ideas about how it could go and has gone so far as to write up a treatment. If and when that gets off the ground, we at the Inquisitr will be sure to let you know about it.
