Pomplamoose could easily become my new favorite band


Meet Pomplamoose, a two person band that is getting a ton of attention on YouTube and might be on their way to bigger things.

Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn started making music together in the summer of 2008, and decided to form the band. Pomplamoose thus represents the collaborative efforts of the two afore-mentioned musicians. It also means grapefruit in French.

Besides having appealing vocal delivery and mixes (sort of Lily Allen Brit-pop vocals but with more depth) Pomplamoose also does one other thing that makes them stand out: their video clips show them producing the music, even where that means mashing themselves on different instruments together, or what others have called “production as art.”

Their latest cover of Beyonce’s Single Ladies has already passed one million views on Twitter, but they have a range of original music as well. The Pomplamoose Youtube page here, and the Beyonce cover as follows:
