‘GTA Online’ Gunrunning DLC Release Date: New Leak Hints Launch Next Week

The long-awaited downloadable content will finally reach Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online really soon if the latest reports about the game are anything to go by.

Just last week, ardent GTA Online watcher and Twitter user Spider-Vice recently directed the attention of gamers to a recent qabeta change in the Steam Database concerning the game.

He pointed out that the tweak in the listing had to do with the base game audio, which he noted is one of the aspects of the title that remains untouched when developer Rockstar Games is simply working on GTA Online updates.

Well-known GTA insider Tezfunz2 then chimed in, saying that this definitely means the arrival of a new DLC in the game, and an imminent one at that.

“If you want the short meaning, final testing of a new DLC. They usually test it for two weeks and then release it.”

This means that whatever this is, it is coming the first week of June at the earliest. When asked what this GTA Online DLC could be about, Tezfunz2 said it could be the highly-anticipated Gunrunning DLC that Rockstar teased way back in March when it outlined its plans for the game for the year.

Rockstar namedropped Gunrunning coming to GTA Online around spring and summer. They also provided a description of what this DLC will be all about.

“Stock up and bunker down as you take on the craziest militias across the state of San Andreas in another massive update for GTA Online. Featuring brand new weaponized vehicles and exciting new missions, get ready to fight for supremacy in the illegal arms trade and wage war with the latest in high-powered military hardware.”

Looking at the release schedule that Rockstar teased, the Gunrunning DLC could be here as early as next month as the studio’s last wave of extra content for the spring.

With Tezfunz2 saying that testing this GTA Online DLC will last a couple of weeks, fans can expect it to arrive this June, and it could very well be the expansion they have been waiting to see in the game.

Ever since it was announced, gamers have been clamoring for information about the military-focused expansion. Prior to this leak, GTA watcher and YouTuber MrBossFTW talked about the possible addition of 14 new military-type vehicles in the Gunrunning DLC referenced on the social club of GTA Online.

There will be planes and jets such as the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, the SR-71 Blackbird, and the A10 Thunderbolt as well as some monstrous turret-mounted eight-wheel drive tanks among many others.

Before fans can jump with the excitement about the possible looming release of the GTA Online Gunrunning DLC, Tezfunz2 also warned that this expansion may not be it at all and could end up being something else entirely.

At the moment, he wants gamers to hold their horses until everything is made official. What he can say for now is that there is “something new” coming to GTA Online. Whether it will be the DLC fans have been looking for or not, he urged fans to just simply wait a little longer.

What Rockstar currently has going for in GTA Online is the Ruiner 2000-locked Steeplechase Premium Race and the Del Perro Pier Time Trial, which gamers can take part in until May 29. The Double RP and GTA$ event tied to the Juggernaut and Resurrection adversary modes also recently wrapped.

With the expected release of a new GTA Online DLC fast approaching, it won’t be long before fans can finally get the Gunrunning experience if this is really what Rockstar has in store next.
