Ryan Seacrest Lives Like A King On The Upper East Side, Hasn’t Signed On For ‘American Idol,’ Kelly Ripa Feud?

Ever since Ryan Seacrest moved to New York to be a co-host on the Live with Kelly show (which is now, appropriately, Live with Kelly and Ryan), he’s found himself back in the whirlwind of drama and controversy.

And while some of it is for good reason — while other parts of it are just more rumors and speculation — there’s a bit of good news that’s come out of New York City as far as the radio host is concerned.

According to Realtor.com, one of the biggest reasons that Ryan Seacrest is in the news today is because of the way he lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. And while the Upper East Side is notorious for its expensive prices — even more expensive than the rest of Manhattan — Seacrest’s standard of living is high, even for the residents of the area.

“The six-story home sits in the tony Lenox Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, not far from where his new morning partner, Kelly Ripa, reportedly lives. People magazine says Seacrest will be sharing the rental with his girlfriend, model Shayna Taylor. The building has been thoroughly updated to include a high-speed elevator, 15-zone climate control, and a 30-foot-high vertical garden. It has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 3,000 square feet of entertainment space. It’s a whole lot of house for Seacrest and Taylor to host friends and family.”

Now that’s a lot of house!

Meanwhile, according to Us Weekly, many in the media are wondering whether Ryan Seacrest will be joining the reboot of American Idol. Fans and media people alike have been speculating about Seacrest’s possible return since the reboot of the hit talent competition was announced.

So far, however, Seacrest hasn’t confirmed his participation in the show that made him famous.

“There is no deal at this time for Ryan to return to Idol,” the insider told Us. Earlier this month, the TV personality, 42, addressed speculation that he’ll host an Idol reboot during the Monday, May 8, episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan. “I don’t know about that part yet,” he said, explaining how difficult it would be to juggle his new gig on Live with potential duties on Idol. “We haven’t gotten that far. This was news to me last week. I had said at the end of the series, ‘Goodbye for now,’ hoping somewhere it would come back.”

But not all of the news about Ryan Seacrest is good. According to Radar Online, he and his new co-host, Kelly Ripa, have been “butting heads” already, to the point that the ratings of the show are now suffering.

Apparently, Ripa wasn’t the one who chose Seacrest as her partner, and she’s mad that he’s stealing her thunder.

“Kelly wanted someone she could boss around — and that isn’t Ryan,” tattles an insider. “He’s as big of a star as she is! Maybe even bigger! Kelly preferred someone less well-known,” notes the insider, adding other candidates for the job included B-list actors Jerry O’Connell and Fred Savage.

While Seacrest is better known as a radio host and a producer, he does have a bit of A-list recognition thanks to the fact that he’s responsible for bringing the Kardashians to the forefront of the public consciousness. You can either love him or hate him for that.

A Live! spokesperson has reached out to Inquisitr with a statement.

“Kelly and Ryan are having a great time together, and their chemistry is apparent to anyone who watches the show. And Live! remains the top-rated entertainment talk show in all of daytime.”

Now it’s your turn to sound off: what do you think of this latest Ryan Seacrest news? Do you think that he and Kelly are butting heads, or is it all just rumors to keep interest in the show?
