Meghan Markle Captures Prince Harry’s Heart And Sparks ‘Meghan Effect’ Fashion Amid Marriage Rumors

Meghan Markle has found her Prince Charming in Prince Harry, who reportedly is wowed by the actress. As a result of capturing Harry’s heart, Meghan is earning new attention for everything from her fabulous figure to her style choices. Now, a new report claims that Markle has sparked the “Meghan effect” as a result of her royal boyfriend romance, with rumors of a marriage between the actress and Prince Harry in the not-too-distant future.

Before Markle entered the royal picture, Britain’s Prince Harry was regarded as one of the world’s most eligible bachelors. But now, although he still qualifies for the eligible list, it’s become increasingly clear that it’s Meghan who owns Harry’s heart. As a result, the Suits actress is stunning in the spotlight, and the fashion industry has noticed, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Style insiders reportedly are already preparing for the “Meghan Effect.” From Markle’s accessories to her outfits, young women want to steal her style, and that means copies that can be a boon to the fashion industry.

Born in Los Angeles, Prince Harry’s 35-year-old girlfriend is finding herself compared to Kate Middleton, who has become known for causing the “Kate Effect.” Harry’s sister-in-law, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, stepped into the spotlight prior to her royal wedding six years ago, immediately captivating style watchers.

In 2011, Kate was famously photographed in a $340 dress from British retailer Reiss. And rather than focusing on her poise as she welcomed President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to Buckingham Palace or the meaning of the Presidential couple’s visit, it was the frock that garnered the attention; selling out in hours.

Although the Duchess of Cambridge’s influence on Britain’s fashion industry has been estimated at more than $1 billion, along with boosting British tourism, there is speculation that Markle could surpass Kate when it comes to retail fashion. The ultimate test will be if and when Meghan marries Prince Harry.

Markle has earned fans in her role of stylish paralegal Rachel Zane on USA Network’s Suits. But tying the knot with Harry could dramatically add to her fan base. In addition to being famous as a Hollywood actress, Meghan is known for her humanitarian work, serving as an ambassador for World Vision.

One telling signal that Markle and Harry were ready to marry was when her lifestyle blog, TheTig.com, was shuttered, increasing the speculation that their engagement announcement would soon occur. In recent months, Meghan has succeeded in dividing her time between Toronto, where Suits is shot, and London, where she stays with Harry at Kensington Palace.

Even without an engagement ring, Markle has sparked the “Meghan Effect” with select designer and mid-market choices. Just prior to Christmas, Meghan was seen carrying a $1,375 Mulberry handbag in royal blue, which then sold out online. A similar phenomenon occurred when Markle was seen in one of jewelry designer Maya Brenner’s $300 necklaces.

Meghan’s necklace selection, which was decorated with the letters “H” and “M” (assumed to symbolize Harry and Markle), drove traffic to the California-based jewelry designer’s website, revealed Brenner.

“When [Meghan] was spotted in the letter necklace we definitely saw a spike in sales and Web traffic. We sold out within a week.”

The Meghan Effect included a boost in international orders for the jewelry designer. Markle also is being praised for her diplomatic use of fashion, showing that she recognizes “the power” of what she wears, commented Susan Kelley, founder of the royal style blog, WhatKateWore.com. Kelly compared the actress to Kate Middleton.

“Both women understand the power inherent in what they wear,” said the royal style expert.

With the fashion world and fans on board, it’s now up to Prince Harry to propose and plan his royal wedding. Insiders told People magazine that Harry is truly in love and that after having celebrated Pippa Middleton’s nuptials together, speculation is soaring that Prince Harry and Markle are next up to walk down the royal aisle.

Harry was praised for his perfect behavior at Pippa’s reception, said one of the insiders.

“Harry was being the perfect gentleman with Meghan.”

But the prince is taking the time to make sure Markle is comfortable with the royal scene before he proposes, said royal expert Ingrid Seward.

“He wants her to acclimatize to it all,” clarified Seward. “It’s such a whole different world to move into — there’s so much to get used to.”

Markle and Harry have been dating for approximately a year, leading to bets that they will be next to tie the knot. And for those who have doubts about the validity of the romance, this royal expert spoke up about whether Harry’s love is real.

“[Prince Harry is] really in love with her.”

British bookmakers have Prince Harry as the frontrunner when it comes to which royal will wed next. However, Princess Eugenie also is a possibility after dating her boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, for more than six years.
