Celine Dion is paying a powerful tribute to the victims of the bombing that took place after Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, U.K, on May 22.

Celine stopped her concert in Las Vegas on May 23 – one day after the attack to place – to acknowledge the 22 people who lost their life during the horrific terrorist attack this week, asking her audience to join hands and raise their arms in a show of solidarity with Manchester.

Performing during one of her hugely popular residency shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Dion put the show on pause between songs and urged concertgoers to stand, hold hands, and think of the 22 people who were killed and the dozens of others who were injured during the attack.

“Come on, everybody, stand up, and you know what, raise your hands and join them to the person on either side of you, please,” Dion told her audience during a show, just one day after Manchester came under attack following Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena.

“Let’s stand up for Manchester and show them that we care,” Celine continued during the poignant tribute to the victims and their families. “We’re filming this and we’re going to send it across the ocean to those beautiful souls, so let’s do that. That’s it.”

Raising her arm in solidarity, Celine added, “They will be seeing you, they’re going to feel your love. Thank you so much. That was beautiful.”

Dion then posted the footage to her Instagram account alongside the hashtags #Manchester and #PrayForManchester alongside a praying emoji.

Celine’s team also shared two photos of the sincere moment she paused her Las Vegas show and asked her audience joined hands, posting a photo to Instagram and writing, “Celine and her audience join hands in support of the people of Manchester – Team Celine #prayformanchester #Manchester.”

Celine first expressed her horror over the attack in the hours that followed the bombing on social media, as Dion tweeted out her respect to the victims and the city of Manchester in the hours after the horrific news broke.

Sending love in both her native language French and English, Dion tweeted shortly before her heartfelt concert tribute, “Manchester, je suis avec vous… Tout mon amour / #Manchester I am with you… All my love, Céline xx…”

Dion then attached a link to a more lengthy statement posted to her official Facebook page, in which she further sent her condolences to Manchester and revealed that she was “deeply saddened” by the news of the bombing.

“There are no words to express how deeply saddened I am to learn about the tragic news in Manchester… the senseless loss of so many beautiful souls,” Celine wrote of the attack. “My prayers and my thoughts go out to all of those who have lost their loved ones and to those who are suffering.”

“I pray that you will receive the courage and strength to get through this,” Dion continued to the victims and their families of the terror attack in the heartfelt post. “I am with you.”

Celine’s concert tribute came shortly after the singer made a powerful return to the spotlight with a performance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on May 21, where Dion gained seriously high praise for her stunning performance of the classic “My Heart Will Go On.”

Taking to the stage at the music award show to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the song’s release, Celine reprised the track from the Titanic soundtrack to rave reviews from viewers and her peers alike.
