Bollywood Star Shahrukh Khan Wants Brad Pitt To Stay Off Hindi Movies In India, Here’s His Plan For That

Bollywood movie star Shahrukh Khan does not want Brad Pitt to act in Hindi movies in India. And, he has got a solid plan to keep the Hollywood actor away.

The two immensely popular movie stars in the world met in Mumbai and chatted for some time. The rendezvous was set for the press on the 33rd floor of the Trident Hotel in Nariman Point in the Bollywood city. With the calm Arabian Sea in the background, the two superstars started talking about various topics.

Brad Pitt is in India to promote one of his new movies, War Machine, which has premiered on Netflix. The movie has been directed by Australian director David Michod. SRK and Pitt’s 45-minute conversation was hosted by the online streaming platform and the Mumbai Film Festival. The immensely popular actors started talking about their movie career. There are striking similarities between the two.

SRK and Brad Pitt are almost of the same age. While Khan is 51, his Hollywood counterpart is just two years older. Both made their debuts in the early 90s. Pitt had his debut in 1991 with Thelma & Louise, while SRK started in 1992 with Deewana.

Both the actors have turned themselves to being producers. Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment has produced a number of quality movies like Okja, Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave. SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment has produced a number of blockbusters in Bollywood as well.

While the two started discussing about their career, SRK talked about the movie that made him a Brad Pitt fan. Khan loves Pitt in movies like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Burn After Reading, but it is 12 Monkeys that he found “mind-blowing.”

“That’s when I became a fan of Brad Pitt.”

The obvious discussion started about Hindi movies in Bollywood. Even though Pitt traveled to India a few years back to shoot for his movies such as, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and A Mighty Heart, he is not much familiar with the kind of work SRK has done. He was quite curious about how Bollywood movies are made.

My best to David & Brad for the release of War Machine on @netflix. Pleasure to meet u both & Brad the dance remains.

Brad Pitt was curious to know from Shahrukh Khan how much time Bollywood actors devote to rehearse for a dance performance. The focus gradually shifted toward the song and dance aspect of Bollywood.

Since Hollywood starts have started acting in Asian movies, the obvious question was if Brad Pitt was interested in doing Bollywood movies. Matt Damon acted in the Chinese film, The Great Wall, but his Hollywood colleague did not seem much interested in being a part of Hindi movies in India. And, he has his own reasons. He said that he would never do a Bollywood movie, because he did not know how to dance.

“Oh, we’ll make you dance,” Yahoo News quoted SRK as saying.

Khan was, however, open about discussing the weaknesses of Indian cinema. He singled out technology, marketing, professionalism, and scripting. He also seemed concerned that Hollywood might take over India’s box office.

SRK gave examples of recent Hollywood movies like Fast and Furious and Spider-Man. The dubbed Hindi versions of the movies became more successful than Indian movies. And, that’s why Shahrukh Khan does not want Hollywood superstars like Brad Pitt to act in Bollywood movies. And, here is his master plan.

“Singing and dancing has to be a part of Bollywood movies, if only to keep Brad away from our movies,” Khan quipped.

Meanwhile, Brad Pitt is busy with his Hollywood movies. During his conversation with Khan, he criticized the studio system. He seemed to be taking more risks as a producer to back original stories. If not as an actor, Pitt might get interested in Bollywood movies, if he finds a great story. Who knows!
