Swastika, President’s Name Engraved In Golf Course

Lakeville, MA (AHN) – The Secret Service is investigating a vandalism in a Massachusetts golf course that has President Barack Obama’s name beside a swastika.
Local reports showed the billboard-sized vandalism to be an “I” written above a swastika, resembling the phrase “I Heart Obama.”
According to WBZ-TV, workers at the Lakeville Country Club discovered the symbol carved into the green of the 18th hole. The Secret Service and Lakeville Police have launched a probe.
Bridgewater Independent reports that it will take a while to fix the area since the message was engraved right down to the roots of the grass.
The vandalism comes two weeks after a poll asking people whether President Obama “should be killed” was taken down on the popular social networking site Facebook. The Secret Service is also investigating that incident.
As a high-profile African-American presidential candidate, Obama had received Secret Service protection earlier than usual during the presidential race. He has in recent months received intense vitriol from critics. A Republican congressman from South Carolina heckled him in September during a speech before a joint session of Congress.
During Congress’ month-long August recess, lawmakers held healthcare reform town halls that featured angry constituents and Nazi symbols, and that at times had turned violent and ended in arrests.
