Rihanna Is Reportedly Over Drake, Hopes Nicki Minaj Isn’t Stupid To Fall For Him
Ever since Rihanna broke up with Chris Brown, the Bajan beauty has started dating Drake on and off for a couple of years. While some fans think that the exes will reunite soon, it seems that there is little chance of that happening now. According to Hollywood Life, the 29-year-old songstress is tired of seeing, hearing, and talking about her ex-boyfriend.
“She’s over him and has been for a very long time,” an insider revealed.
The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker made headlines again when he gave a shoutout to Nicki Minaj at the Billboard Music Awards. It was a big night for the 30-year-old record producer as he took home 13 awards including Artist of the Year.
“I want to say Nicki Minaj, I’m so glad we found our way back because I love you and I could never ever ever see it any other way!” Drake said as he accepted his award for Top 200 Artist.
The two were romantically linked in the past, but it ended when the “Anaconda” singer started dating Meek Mill in 2015. However, her relationship with the 30-year-old hip-hop artist ended early this year. Ever since her split, she started hanging out with Drizzy again which sparked dating rumors. At the end of the BMAs, Aubrey Graham (Drake’s real name) gave another shoutout to Onika Tanya Maraj (Nicki’s real name).
“I got the love of my life up here,” Drizzy said pointing at Minaj.
What Drake did for Nicki isn’t new because he did the same thing for Rihanna last year when he showered her with sweet words at the MTV Video Music Awards. His heartfelt introduction speech for the Vanguard Award, which he presented to the R&B queen, sparked dating rumors. He even allegedly tried to steal a kiss on Rihanna when he gave her the trophy.
“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22-years-old,” Drake said. “She’s one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life I’ve looked up to her even though she’s younger than me. She’s a living, breathing legend in our industry.”
Rihanna allegedly knows how Drake is since he is doing the same grand gestures he did to her to Nicki now. A source thinks that the award-winning hip-hop artist will do that gesture for the next girl and the one after that. Rih reportedly hopes that the “Super Bass” hitmaker isn’t stupid to think that she is the rapper’s one and only girl because she had to learn the hard way.
“She’s at a point in her life where all she wants is to be happy and free of the bullsh-t,” an insider said. “Her past with him is old and tired.”
Maybe Rihanna is over Drake for the meantime because she’s into another guy at the moment. Robyn Fenty (Rih’s real name) was spotted getting cozy with Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson at the Met Gala after-party a few weeks ago.
“It was like they were a new couple. She was canoodling and getting chummy,” a spy told Page Six. “They sat together at the ball and partied at 1Oak until the place closed at 7 a.m.”
Apart from Miles, Chris Brown is reportedly trying to reconnect with Rihanna. According to Celebrity Insider, the exes wanted to give their relationship a second chance. They have allegedly started texting again and reconnected on social media.
“The plan is to hopefully link up when their respective schedules allow it,” Rih’s pal said.
On his 28th birthday, Rihanna reportedly reached out to Chris and sang him a sweet song. They allegedly FaceTimed and when he answered the call, she started singing him a happy birthday which left him speechless.
“His eyes lit up and he had the biggest smile on his face. He was bobbing his head when she was singing and when she was done he was like wow. They talked briefly and she told him I love you,” their source said.
