Charlie Davies Seriously Injured in Car Accident

US Soccer Team’s forward Charlie Davies has been seriously injured in a fatal single vehicle car accident in Virginia.
According to a statement released by US Soccer, Davies spent more than three hours in surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. One passenger in the car, 22 year old Ashley Roberta was pronounced dead at the scene, while another female passenger was taken to hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the vehicle struck a metal guardrail on the Washington Memorial Parkway in Arlington, between the Pentagon and Memorial Bridge at approx 3:15am Tuesday morning.
“Obviously, as a team we were saddened to learn this news,” US Soccer Coach Bob Bradley said in the statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlie and his family, as well as the people in the car and the families of the others involved. As a team, we are relying on each other in a moment that has for sure hit us all hard.”
