‘Bachelorette’ Spoilers: Rachel Lindsay Confirms She’s Engaged, Open To TV Wedding

The new Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay, was on Monday morning’s episode of Good Morning America and she simply couldn’t wait to share the big news: She’s engaged! Although she can’t say too much about her new guy and her journey to find love, producers told the reality star that she could share the happy engagement news with the world.

“I’m engaged, thank you. I’m so excited, I’m so happy and I just couldn’t keep it in, so they were like, ‘OK, you can announce it. You can say you’re engaged.’ You have to follow along on the journey. It’s really exciting. You won’t be able to tell,” Lindsay said. Of course, thousands of fans have already read spoilers on Reality Steve‘s website and know exactly whom Lindsay picks (you don’t have to worry about that in this post).

Lindsay recently chatted with Hollywood Life and told the outlet that she’s excited for what’s to come. Although the odds may be stacked against her — and the recent Ben Higgins/Lauren Bushnell split puts a bit of a damper on the franchise as a whole — Lindsay isn’t the least bit worried about things not working out for her long-term.

“Not really. I know Ben [Higgins] and Lauren [Bushnell] recently broke up, and I think that’s really unfortunate, but I don’t really compare myself to them because I’m not them. I’m different and my fiancé is different and we’re going to have a different relationship. I think we’ll be great,” Lindsay told Hollywood Life.

She went on to talk about walking down the aisle, which surely will be on her agenda once she and her beau are able to go public and live a “normal” life together. Lindsay said that she’s not even thinking that far ahead right now. She seems really happy to have met a guy and fallen in love and she’s taking things one step at a time. She only finished taping the show a couple of weeks ago, after all.

So, would Rachel Lindsay consider having a TV wedding? It’s a possibility!

“You know, I’m open to anything but, I’m not really thinking about the wedding because I’m trying to make the engagement work first. I’m just looking forward to being public with my fiance and us getting to cultivate the relationship we have together,” Lindsay said ahead of the May 22 premiere.

Bachelor Nation hasn’t experienced a wedding since Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert tied the knot in Mexico after meeting on Bachelor In Paradise. The two have since announced that they are expecting their first child together.

It is presumed that Rachel Lindsay isn’t permitted to wear her engagement ring out in public just yet, as that could be an indication of which guy she chooses on the show’s finale (the final two men will sit down with jeweler Neil Lane and pick out the perfect bauble for the woman they love). Although she has been doing quite a bit of press lately, her left ring finger has been hanging out sans diamond.

Lindsay made her Bachelor debut on Nick Viall’s season. She was sent home after the overnight dates, despite seeming to have a great connection with Viall. It didn’t take long, however, for ABC to offer her a deal to take the helm and hand out roses of her own. It definitely sounds like she made the right decision and fans are thrilled to hear that she has found love. It is absolutely safe to say that she is completely over Nick!

The Bachelorette premieres tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern on ABC. Will you be tuning in?
