Farrah Abraham Changes Her Story On Why She Calls Her Dad Michael

Farrah Abraham has been calling her father, Michael Abraham, by his first name for several years. Now that she’s on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars Family Edition, even more people are questioning why the star is doing so. But it seems like neither Farrah, nor her mother, Debra Danielsen, can keep their story straight on why she does it.
Two weeks ago, Debra Danielsen tried to answer the question in a recent interview, though it totally conflicted with what Farrah has said previously.

“In our family that’s not a big deal because a lot of my relatives on my dad’s side are from Denmark. We’re only second generation in the United States. I [grew up] hearing my dad call his parents [by their first names]. It’s just a thing. I don’t know for all Danes but for them and everyone on their side of their family, everybody calls everybody by their first names.”

However, Debra insisted that she doesn’t allow Farrah to call her Debra, even though it is a sign of respect for Michael. What?

“When she tries to pull that on me though I’m like, ‘No, I’m your mother!'” she said.

Previously, Farrah Abraham has had several different reasons for why she calls her dad Michael. Aside from being a fourth Danish, she has stated that she had done it in the past so as not to make her half-sister, Ashley Danielsen, feel badly since Michael is not her biological father.

Another time, Farrah Abraham stated that she does this because her father took her mother’s side after a 2010 incident between Farrah Abraham and her mother that caused the police to be called. The pair are still both upset about the incident, but Farrah insists that it was part of routine abuse from her mother, while her mother says that during the fight, Farrah had her in a headlock and threatened to break her fingers before killing her.

However, Farrah’s story seems to change and evolve, and this week on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars Family Edition, there’s no surprise that Farrah Abraham’s twisted tale changed once again.

During the most recent episode of the show, the families sat down to celebrate a mock Thanksgiving to represent tension around the holiday, and Farrah Abraham’s father was called out for being “indifferent.”

Those around her, though, questioned why she calls her father by his first name and doesn’t call him dad.

And this time, Farrah’s story flipped again. She stated that she was “abused and disciplined” by her father in such a “harsh manner” that she has “lost respect” for him and therefore doesn’t feel like her deserves the title of “dad.”

At certain intervals during the episode, she referred to her mother, who was off at a beer festival with her boyfriend, as Debra.

Farrah Abraham and her dad seemingly still have a relationship, despite all of the drama, but Farrah has revealed that she and her mom no longer speak and haven’t done so since October. Debra says she misses Farrah and her granddaughter, Sophia, 8, deeply.

Farrah Abraham, however, is convinced that was abused by her mother, and hinted that there would be an episode where the pair finally confront it.

“There is an episode where we talk about traumatic experiences, my mom and I, and we still cannot get on the same page. So, sometimes between lie detector tests and traumatic experiences, there’s just a certain point in time where you’re like, ‘Somebody does not have the wherewithal to take accountability to even remember things,’ and you’re like, ‘Why do I even want to be around them anymore?’ The best narcissists can block things out and act like nothing ever happened to just keep going,” she said.
