‘The Voice’ Season 12 Finale Song Choices Revealed, Including Coach Duets
The Voice Season 12 finalists Chris Blue, Lauren Duski, Jesse Larson, and Aliyah Moulden will each perform three songs Monday night — here’s a heads-up on who’s singing what.
Three coaches are left with representatives in the finale, with Adam Levine having Jesse, Alicia Keys having Chris, and Blake Shelton having Lauren and Aliyah. Gwen Stefani was knocked out of the competition as a coach in last week’s The Voice results show after losing both of her singers. The four finalists of Season 12 will each perform a duet with their respective coach in Monday night’s The Voice performance finale.
In addition to their coach duet, the finalists will perform a new cover and an original song. The public will be allowed to vote for their favorite artist to win The Voice as soon as host Carson Daly gives the word at the beginning of Monday night’s episode.
All of Monday night’s songs have already been uploaded to iTunes and are currently available for purchase. Here’s a look at what each of The Voice Season 12 finalists will be singing.
Chris Blue
Cover: “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson
Duet (with Alicia Keys): “Diamonds and Pearls” by Prince and the New Power Generation
Original: “Money On You”
Chris is going back to his up-tempo showmanship with a cover of Janet Jackson’s iconic “Rhythm Nation,” a song that has never been performed on The Voice. He’ll be going mid-tempo for a cover of “Diamonds and Pearls” while his original song “Money On You” is pure R&B pop.
Lauren Duski
Cover: “The Dance” by Garth Brooks
Duet (with Blake Shelton): “There’s a Tear in My Beer” by Hank Williams and Hank Williams, Jr.
Original: “Deja Vu”
Lauren is emphasizing her chilling vocals on two ballads, a cover of “The Dance” by Garth Brooks and her original song, “Deja Vu.” Meanwhile, she’ll be showing off her fun side with Hank Williams and Hank Williams, Jr.’s classic “There’s a Tear in My Beer.”
Jesse Larson
Cover: “Takin’ It to the Streets” by The Doobie Brothers
Duet (with Adam Levine): “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince and the Revolution
Original: “Woman”
Jesse will get to show off his impressive guitar skills and funk-infused voice, with his soulful original “Woman,” his spirited cover of the Doobie Brothers’ “Takin’ It to the Streets” and his duet with Adam, Prince and the Revolution’s “Let’s Go Crazy.”
Aliyah Moulden
Cover: “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder
Duet (with Blake Shelton): “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas
Original: “Never Be Lonely”
Aliyah is set to go full spunky again, with her original song “Never Be Lonely,” her cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” and her duet on Martha and the Vandellas’ “Dancing in the Street” having fun, throwback vibes.
Heading into the final voting of the season, there are no more Twitter Instant Saves or coach choices. The artist with the most votes from America will be announced as the winner of The Voice Season 12 in Tuesday night’s finale, and the second, third, and fourth placers will be revealed as well. The Voice Season 12 finale will be jam-packed with musical performances before the results, with guests like Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Zedd and Alessia Cara, CeeLo Green, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, and Gladys Knight.
The Voice airs Monday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, while the Season 12 finale airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
