Farrah Abraham Shares Photo Of Sophia On Instagram And Is Immediately Met With Backlash, What Now?
Farrah Abraham can’t catch a break when it comes to sharing photos of her daughter on Instagram.
Over the weekend, after Sophia Abraham, 8, attended a dance recital, the Teen Mom OG star took to social media to share a sweet photo of herself and her child posing on the red carpet and immediately received backlash and harsh comments from her many fans and followers.
In addition to one particular fan cruelly pointing out that Sophia was sporting a “unibrow,” several people labeled the longtime reality star a “monster” and spoke of their sympathy for her child.
“Poor Sophia [you’re] a beautiful child walking in a [monster’s] foot steps,” one person said.
“You are truly evil. If I was your mother I would give you what you keep telling her and stay the hell away from you monster,” added another.
Farrah Abraham continued to face backlash for hours after sharing the photo and in one message, an Instagram user accused her and Sophia of being a “Stepford mother and daughter” with “creepy smiles.”
In the photo, Farrah Abraham was seen sporting her new blonde hair and no makeup while Sophia was posing like a ballerina with her toe pointed to the side. Although her stance was surely appropriate for a dance competition, some didn’t think it looked natural and poked fun at the child’s “Bugs Bunny” feet.
Farrah Abraham is no stranger to backlash and has been targeted frequently for allowing her daughter to wear makeup and dress in a way that some have deemed inappropriate. However, the reality star doesn’t seem to be bothered by the criticism and months ago, she addressed the controversy surrounding her decision to allow her daughter to get dolled up.
During an appearance on the Allegedly podcast with Theo Von and Matthew Cole, Farrah Abraham admitted that she was once called into her daughter’s school and reprimanded for letting her wear makeup.
“You know, when your kids are 5 or 6 they already start playing with makeup, and I was the only mother in freakin’ elementary school getting called in to deal with makeup on her daughter,” she revealed, according to a report by Us Weekly.
In response to the call, Farrah Abraham informed her daughter’s principal that if she didn’t want to see the little girls at her school wearing makeup to class, she shouldn’t be wearing it herself.
“I said to them — and I proved my point because then the principal switched schools — I go, ‘Well then you should take off your makeup. If you don’t want little girls coming to school with makeup then don’t wear makeup,'” Farrah Abraham explained. “And then ever since I’ve seen that principal she hasn’t had makeup on her face.”
As Us Weekly revealed, Farrah Abraham received tons of backlash back last summer after sharing “suggestive” photos of her daughter modeling in a gingham bikini on Instagram. In the pictures, Sophia appeared to be half-submerged in a pool as she gazed into the camera with heavy eye shadow and pink lip gloss.
Farrah Abraham also received negative attention earlier this year after posting a photo of her daughter at her boutique wearing a pair of platform heels.
“She’s already wearing heels!!?? Smh,” one user wrote in response, via In Touch Weekly.
“Growing children shouldn’t wear heels, it’s really bad for their spine,” said another.
