K-Pop Superstars BTS Could Not Stop Gushing Over Their Fans At The BBMAs [Video]

BTS may have been one of the most talked about acts of the night at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on May 21, but while the whole world was talking about the superstar K-Pop boyband, all they wanted to do was gush about their fans.

Marking their big debut to American audiences, BTS – made up of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – just couldn’t seem to stop praising their legions of fans while chatting with various outlets at the big award show.

The insanely popular Korean boyband made stops with several outlets on the red carpet at the BBMAs, gushing about their fans and the huge amount of support they’d received ahead of their U.S. debut via social media and beyond.

The K-Pop band had a very sweet message for their legions of fans after taking home their very first Billboard Music Award, which marked the first time in the award show’s history that a K-Pop act won a BBMA.

“We never expected that,” BTS member Rap Monster told Entertainment Tonight of their huge win backstage at the award show after accepting the award for Top Social Artist. “But when we heard the name, it’s like, speechless. We cannot say it as a word. It’s crazy.”

BTS then thanked their legions of fans backstage at the BBMAs, praising their followers for bringing so much attention to the K-Pop boyband, particularly through social media.

“Thank you for shouting out for us. Thank you for voting for us,” BTS continued after becoming Billboard Music Award winners. “Thank you for waiting for us and everything.”

The BTS boys’ sweet words for their fans came after the K-Pop group also thanked their legions of very supportive fans while accepting their award on stage, telling the world how “proud” their followers make them.

Admitting that they couldn’t believe they were on stage at the Billboard Music Awards, BTS told the world while accepting their first BBMA, “it’s so great to see all the artists we admire. To be in this category with such great artists, just really honored.”

But the boyband certainly didn’t forget their fans during the whirlwind moment.

“Most importantly, this award belongs to all the people around the world that shine their love and light on us by the millions and make BTS proud,” BTS said while accepting the BBMA for Top Social Artist. “Please remember what we say, love yourself.”

Before taking home the award for Top Social Artist, beating out huge names Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes and Ariana Grande, the BTS guys also gushed over their U.S. debut on the red carpet in an interview with E! News, where they admitted that being at the award show like the BBMAs was a dream come true for them.

“I mean, it’s crazy. This is the first time we’ve come to an American award show and it’s also Billboard,” BTS told the outlet during the network’s Live From The Red Carpet coverage of the music award show.

“The name is really huge for us. We’ve been listening to Billboard since we were like eight.”

The BTS guys shared a similar sentiment on another red carpet interview with Good Morning America, where Rap Monster teased that U.S. fans of K-Pop will probably be seeing a lot more of the boyband in the coming months.

Revealing that BTS had just sold out five arena shows around the U.S., the boyband star admitted that he thinks it’s “crazy” that the K-Pop band is seeing so much success out of their native country South Korea.

“[It’s so] crazy to be showing our music videos and music to all the American audiences,” the BTS star admitted during the 2017 BBMAs red carpet interview with the ABC morning show.
