Billy Ray Cyrus Dishes On Miley Cyrus’ New Single And Noah Cyrus’ Musical Career


Billy Ray Cyrus took time to talk to Elite Daily about what he really thinks of his two daughters, Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus, and their music careers. Billy Ray stopped at the Xfinity booth at the T-Mobile Arena’s Radio Roy to chat about Miley and Noah and what they’ve been up to lately.

Miley Cyrus took the stage at the Billboard Music Awards tonight, Sunday, May 21, where she sang her newly released single “Malibu.” Miley Cyrus has said that it is a song written about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth and her feelings for him. It’s only been out for about a week but it has already reached the top of the charts.

Obviously, fans love Miley Cyrus’ new single but what does her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus think about “Malibu” and the direction the Miley’s career is taking?

Billy Ray Cyrus is excited about Miley’s new song and told Elite Daily,

“I love ‘Malibu’ and Miley’s album…When I listen to it, I hear a lot of her roots. I hear a lot of the influences that I heard her playing as a little girl.”

Billy Ray Cyrus spoke of the kind of music that she used to play when she was starring in Hannah Montana and he was driving her back and forth from the set. He said she played a lot of Johnny Cash and Eddie James and a lot of other artists that most kids were not listening to at that time. Those are the kinds of influences he hears in her music these days.

Above all, Billy Ray Cyrus thinks his daughter Miley’s new album is “very honest and very real.”

Recently, Noah Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus’ youngest daughter, has also been appearing more in the musical world. Billy Ray said,

“Noah has always been what you call a very old soul…When you talked to her as a little girl, there was something about her spirit…”

Noah Cyrus was always the girl that was talking about things that other girls her age wouldn’t have a conversation about like the purpose of life and humanity. According to Billy Ray, Noah always loved music and he believes this is her calling. He says this is the happiest he’s ever seen Noah and that she’s ready for this step of her journey.

Noah Cyrus is 17-years-old now and is following in the musical steps of her big sister, Miley Cyrus. On May 7, 2017, Noah Cyrus performed her own new release “Stay Together” at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Billy Ray Cyrus seems to be proud of Noah and Miley and says that he just wants to see them both happy by doing the thing they love – being involved in the music world.

Billy Ray Cyrus has his own changes happening in his musical career. Firstly, he’s not going to be Billy Ray much longer. Billy Ray will be known simply as Cyrus, he told Rolling Stone. The name change should be set by August 25, 2017, and he says that it will be a legal name change, not just a career name change.

The other new thing in Billy Ray’s music career is that he celebrated the 25th anniversary of his hit song “Achy Breaky Heart” with a special re-release of the song that has been updated to sound more like the original version was intended to sound.

Billy Ray has a new album in the works and will be appearing in the second season of the CMT show, Still The King.
