Michelle Obama Is A Pretty In Pink Stunner In Italy

Continuing the former First Family’s post-White House trend of globetrotting, Michelle and Barack Obama spent the weekend vacationing in Italy. And while Barack was reportedly golfing an hour or so away in Tuscany, Michelle Obama was stunning the Montalcino locals with her chic pink and white ensemble as she strolled through town and dined with pals.

As TMZ reports, Michelle Obama was surrounded by pals, security, and throngs of awestruck locals as she enjoyed her Italian holiday. And one of the most remarked-upon aspects of the statuesque stunner’s appearance was her smartly over-sized, one-shoulder rose pink blouse. Paired with fashionably distressed white denim capris and white flat sandals, Mrs. Obama’s look was about as far away from her traditional White House look as Italy is from Washington D.C. And with big sunglasses on her face and her phone in her hand, Michelle appeared to be on top of the world as she turned small town heads left and right.

While Michelle Obama enjoyed an al fresco lunch with a few close friends, she continued to be the center of attention as she showed off just the right amount of skin for a respectable former First Lady as her hubby hit the links.

While Michelle Obama was busy turning heads while vacationing in Italy, she’s managed to remain front-and-center in the political headlines, too. The reason? While Michelle is looking pretty in pink and showing some celebrity skin as a former First Lady, her successor Melania Trump is in the midst of a Middle Eastern political trip that began in Saudi Arabia.

As The Boston Globe reports, Melania opted to omit the traditional headscarf as she joined her husband’s foray into the Saudi Arabian kingdom. While Michelle Obama was First Lady, she too chose not to cover her hair in the Muslim-majority country. So what’s the difference? When Michelle Obama visited Saudi Arabia sans head scarf, Donald Trump blasted her all over social media.

While it is traditional to wear a head scarf in Saudi Arabia, it is not a requirement for visiting foreigners. When Michelle Obama visited the nation in 2015, she was roundly applauded by women’s rights advocates for choosing to forgo a tradition that is widely panned as sexist.

However, Donald Trump was not among the many supporters of Michelle Obama’s Saudi Arabian fashion.

“Many people are saying it was wonderful that Mrs. Obama refused to wear a scarf in Saudi Arabia, but they were insulted. We have enuf enemies.”

Now that he’s POTUS, Trump seems to have changed his tune when it comes to the necessity of head scarves for first ladies visiting Saudi Arabia. In fact, not only did Melania not cover her hair, Ivanka Trump didn’t either. Even so, the POTUS hasn’t taken back the insulting words of his 2015 tweet targeting Michelle Obama and her Middle Eastern ensemble.

And the world has noticed the discrepancy between Trump’s words against Michelle Obama and what his wife chose to wear while accompanying him across the globe.

Luckily for Michelle Obama, she and Barack are half a world away from the Trump-infused headscarf drama. As such, she’s free to dress as she sees fit – even to show off her toned shoulder and svelte arm while vacationing, touring and dining in Italy as a private citizen.

Officially, Michelle and Barack Obama will be spending a total of six days in Italy and are staying the village of Borgo Finocchieto, a mere 15-minute drive from the ultra-exclusive golf course Barack has been frequently. Not surprisingly, the former POTUS has opted against hitting the links at a Trump course and is rather enjoying the seclusion and security of the course of Castiglion del Bosco instead, reports Daily Mail. According to the course’s website, it is Italy’s only private golf club set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Of course, Barack is surrounded by some high-level security as he golfs, including Italian state and armed police, the Polizia di Stato and the Carabinieri. Not to mention that he and Michelle are the only guests at the course during their visit, something that’s reportedly costing the former POTUS and ex-First Lady a whopping $15,000 per night.
