Caitlyn Jenner recently made headlines when she opened up about her struggles after transitioning to being a woman. Her family and people around her apparently had the hardest time coming to terms with her new persona. Speaking on the UK show Loose Women, she recently revealed that her mother, for example, took about a month to finally accept the reality that her son had become a woman, at times blaming her parenting skills for the outcome. The following was Bruce Jenner’s statement in relation to this.
“[She dealt with it] By me calling her up and cracking jokes and realizing I’m the same person. Your womanhood is in your head and your soul about who you are and so the surgery really doesn’t make that much difference.”
She also talked about her dad’s likely reaction, if he were alive, and got to hold a conversation about transitioning into a woman.
“I think at first when my dad, if he was around and I told him my story and who I really was, I think my dad would have gone, ‘What? No, I can’t grasp this, I can’t wrap my head around it.’ It’s that generation. But I really think as time went on and my dad became more aware of the issues that my community, that I live in now, have to deal with, and about making a change in the world, the world’s thinking and bringing understanding to this very marginalized community, I think my dad would be very proud of that.”
While speaking on This Morning, she talked about why she felt so comfortable transitioning into a woman, stating that for a long time, Caitlyn Jenner had been locked up in the closet, but Bruce Jenner got to do everything, from raising kids and watching them grow, to finally settling down and enjoying a time of deep reconciliation. The following was her exact statement in regard to this.
“For my entire life Caitlyn has been around but she’s been living inside. She never had a chance to live.”
“Bruce pretty much did everything – raised an amazing family, wonderful children, everything from my younger years, I went through a lot but I was finally at a point in my life where all my children were raised, I made my peace with my family and loved ones and God, that finally I can let her live.”
However, Caitlyn has had to pay a price to be who she is, and one of those is having to sort of ‘break up’ with some members of her family, who include Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian. She revealed this, while on Australia’s Today show, stating the following.

“I love Kimberly, I think she’s a wonderful person, but, well, to be honest with you, I really haven’t talked to her in a long time. I’ve kind of let everything calm down. I kind of stay, you know, I keep my distance.”
“I’m out there trying to make a difference in the world. There’s a lot of drama in the Kardashian family. This is my book about my opinions on things that had happened with me and my family. Anytime I express my opinion, you know, with my family, there’s always challenges in doing that.”

This was in light of the Kardashian clan’s response to allegations in her book Secrets of My Life. The book purposely chronicled her life, and talks about her difficult journey to self-actualization. In the book, Caitlyn Jenner writes that the Kardashian clan felt left out because they were not covered, which she points out was a deliberate strategy. Apparently, she didn’t want the book to be overshadowed by their highly publicized celebrity life.
