One Direction Split Caused Harry And Liam Fallout?

It’s been a year since the One Direction “hiatus” but, of course, we’re still hoping!

The One Direction supposed split in 2016 came as a shock to millions of fans worldwide. Many wept for the group’s decision to take a break, having become one of the most famous Hollywood stars during their run. But as cliched lines go, all good things come to and end. And when One Direction broke off, somehow, it felt like two of their members started to fall out, too.

While former One Direction member Zayn Malik believed the group will remain friends during their announcement of the split in 2016 via US Magazine, his other bandmates left with macho goodbyes.

There have been rumors going around that former One Direction members Liam Payne and Harry Styles are not in very good terms, unlike before.

This issue started when Harry Styles finally came out with his solo rock album. All four One Direction members have things going on for them separately, too. Zayn Malik released his own solos, topping the charts without his bandmates. Louis Tomlinson is busy with baby son Freddie. And Liam Payne is living his own life, losing weight for his newborn.

So what’s the tension between Harry and Liam, you ask?

Liam started it of when he told Music Source via Daily Star:

“Niall had Slow Hands out and he had This Town, which is great, and Niall’s gone down the singer-songwriter route, which is really cool.

Harry’s song I heard, and I’ll be honest with you…it’s not my sort of music. It’s not something I’d listen to, but I think he did a great job of doing what he wanted to do.”

Although it’s also possible that people might have only misjudged Liam’s words, another exchange with the other One Direction star further complicates what’s left of his relationship with Harry Styles.

Liam tells Roman Kemp on the breakfast show, a few days after the first statement regarding Harry’s new album, that he is thinking about a baby show for Bear but he is not expecting Harry to be present:

“Do you know what, I’m doing some sort of like, it’s like the man’s equivalent of the baby shower. It’s the head wetting thing. I’ve had to put it off for a little bit because of work things. But it’s coming round soon.

I’ve put around the invite to the rest of the boys saying to come.I don’t think Harry can make it but I think Niall’s gonna swing by. We’ve got a little golf course thing going on in the back garden and he can’t resist a bit of golf that boy.”

To add the proverbial salt to the wound, fans have even zoomed in into the fact that Liam is singing about how happy he is that he is out of One Direction. His new song, “Strip That Down,” contains the lyrics:

“You know I used to be in 1D, now I’m out free.”

Although One Direction fans are loving Liam’s new song, which was co-written by Ed Sheeran and features Migos’ Quavo, the lyrics have not resonated well with One Direction fans who are still heartbroken by the split.

On a side note, whether Harry and Liam are indeed cooling off their brotherhood, Harry’s newest solo rock album outside One Direction titled Harry Styles is already proving to be a success, Forbesreports, kicking off with 230,000 equivalent copies moved in its first week. His single Sign Of The Times was so successful it was the song that finally ended the streak of Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You.
