Jennifer Aniston And Justin Theroux Home: ‘Twisted Neighbor’ Law Suit, Jen Drawn Into More Drama

Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston seem to be embroiled in a bit of a property dispute with a neighbor of their Manhattan apartment. Theroux purchased a space in an apartment building decades ago and has been renovating the expansive space since 2015. One neighbor, a lawyer named Norman Resnicow, has made his disapproval of the ongoing renovations known in quite obvious and interesting ways. The actions of the disgruntled neighbor have caused the Leftovers star to file a lawsuit for damages of $350,000.

The New York Post relays details about the dispute and what ignited the feud between Theroux and Resnicow.

“As fiercely as Aniston’s Rachel fought for Ross’ affections on the hit sitcom, both sides in the real-life drama have been battling over the property line, which runs through the Manhattan building’s deck space. Resnicow claims Theroux’s deck fence encroaches on his space by two feet and had threatened to ‘kill’ the ivy, the suit claims.”

Theroux has lived in the building since 2001, years before even meeting Aniston, and added a second floor above in 2003. Since the renovations began in 2015, Norman, who lives downstairs, insisted that Theroux install $30,000 worth of soundproofing. When the star failed to comply, Resnicow carried on with “petty and disruptive conduct,” according to Justin’s recent court filings.

Such conduct included Theroux’s water and electricity being cut off to his deck by the lawyer and demands made by Resnicow that Theroux replace the century-old heating within his home, while also accusing the contractors the actor hired of damaging marble in the building’s entrance.

The publication relays the alleged actions that Resnicow took in his campaign to make his frustrations about the ongoing renovations to the posh apartment, known.

“Lawyer Norman Resnicow, 69, ‘has made it his twisted sport to bully and intimidate’ Theroux over his alleged ‘un-neighborly decision- making’ at the Washington Place building where they both live, the actor claims in a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit seeking $350,000 in damages.”

In response to the suit that has been filed against him, Norman Resnicow spoke with the New York Post for the purpose of sharing his own side to the story.

“I have acted for one purpose only, which remains to assure my and my wife’s health and safety. As for the terrace boundary matter, smart people can work that out, and both my wife and I and Justin are represented by smart people.”

Although Aniston has likely been drawn into the drama, herself, it seems that this feud between her hubby and the downstairs neighbor has been ongoing for years, well beyond those which she and Justin have been an item. Aniston always seems to be drawn into drama purely by association, much like the drama that has ensued since her ex-husband Brad Pitt and the woman he reportedly left Jen for, Angelina Jolie, split.

Jen has been quite private throughout her career, yet somehow makes it into constant tabloid headlines for false allegations about pregnancies, and near-breakups. Since Brangelina parted ways in September, tabloids couldn’t get enough of speculating about Aniston’s personal view of the split and assumed the beauty must feel entirely vindicated by the demise of the 12-year relationship. It’s clear that Jen’s words written poignantly in the Huffington Post last year which pleaded for respect and privacy, have not been heeded.

“Every day my husband and I are harassed by dozens of aggressive photographers staked outside our home who will go to shocking lengths to obtain any kind of photo, even if it means endangering us or the unlucky pedestrians who happen to be nearby… If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues. The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing.”
