Is Jared Kushner The Next ‘Person Of Interest’ In The Trump-Russia Probe As Top W.H. Aide Is Focus? [UPDATE]

UPDATE: A veteran Republican is quoted saying that there is a sense of despair in the Trump White House that has been likened to a Game of Thrones atmosphere, as people, including Vice President Pence are being thrown under the bus.

“There’s an increasing recognition that the biggest problem they have is Trump himself. The president is his own worst enemy and demands unquestioning devotion, while at the same time showing no understanding that loyalty needs to be a two-way street.”

Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka Trump, is said to be the next “person of interest” in the Trump-Russia investigation, which is probing the connection between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Jared Kushner, a senior aide to Trump, is currently in Saudi Arabia with Donald Trump as his name is being discussed as the next person in the hot seat in the investigation now being handled by special counsel Robert Mueller.

Who Is Turning The Heat Up On The Trump Administration And On Trump Advisers?

Word is making its way around Washington that a Trump senior adviser is the next “person of interest” being investigated in the probe into Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election. This week, former FBI Director Robert Mueller was named special counsel and will take charge of the investigation into corruption and foreign involvement, and he will have the power to prosecute anyone found to have committed a federal crime, says the Inquisitr. Robert Mueller was the FBI Director prior to the recently fired James Comey and is thought to be incredibly impartial and unbiased when it comes to getting to the bottom of the Trump-Russia investigation, and that includes questioning all members of the Trump administration with Russian contacts, including Jared Kushner.

It is unclear whether Jared Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump will be traveling with Trump throughout his entire trip, or if he will return to D.C. earlier, but upon his return, he can expect to have some face time with Robert Mueller. Jared Kushner’s relationships with Russia and the Russian government have been well-documented and include a meeting with Sergey Gorkov, head of Vnesheconombank (VEB), a government-owned bank, in December of 2016. Previously, the White House stated that Jared Kushner had taken this meeting as a representative of the Trump administration and not as part of his own real estate empire.

Last week after Mueller was appointed by Rod Rosenstein, deputy attorney general as special counsel, Donald Trump suggested that he was being falsely accused of having connections to the Russian government.

“There is no collusion – certainly myself and my campaign – but I can always speak for myself and the Russians – zero.”

The Washington Post is unveiling that a “senior advisor with connections very close to President Trump” is under extreme scrutiny, but the White House source stopped short of using Kushner’s name. They are saying that the investigation is about to enter an “overtly active phase,” meaning that it will move from research that was going on behind the scenes to public, possibly televised interviews to using a grand jury to issue subpoenas. According to sources, this should all take shape over the next few weeks.

Those in the Trump administration with known connections to the Russian government are Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Trump son in law Jared Kushner. But sources say that the investigators are particularly interested in Kushner because of how much influence he wields with Trump.

Previously, it seemed that the investigation into the Trump-Russia conflict would not go any farther into the Trump administration than Michael Flynn, but today’s reports of a “person of interest” who is “close to Trump” made it clear that there are other heads potentially on the chopping block, and that Trump’s statement that getting rid of that “nut-job Comey” would take the heat off him and his advisers had the opposite effect.

So Is Jared Kushner The “Person Of Interest” That Is Now The Focus Of The Trump-Russia Investigation?

In trying to suss out who is the “person of interest,” the only two names which appear are Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon, formerly of Breitbart News, though Kushner is the one with the solid Russian contacts. Another reason that Jared Kushner is thought to be the “person of interest” lies in his application for top secret clearance. On that form, government officials say that Jared Kushner lied about his Russian connections, just as Michael Flynn had lied on his own investigation forms, according to White House sources.

“Kushner is already known to have failed to disclose his contacts with Russian officials on his application for top-secret security clearance.”

It is also being suggested that it was Jared Kushner who urged Trump to sack FBI Director James Comey.

And sources are also saying that the conflicts between Kushner and Steve Bannon can all be traced back to Kushner’s connections to the Russian government. Last month, Bannon was said to express this concern to confidantes.

“[Bannon said]that he believes Mr. Kushner’s contact with Russians, and his expected testimony before Congress on the subject, will become a major distraction for the White House.”

Do you believe that the “person of interest” that is the current focus of the Trump-Russia investigation is Jared Kushner?
