‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Is ‘Best Ever Written’, Says Jorah Actor Iain Glen

We already know that fans are beyond excited about Game of Thrones Season 7, but it turns out that GoT actors are pretty psyched about it, too.
Case in point: Jorah Mormount himself, Iain Glen.
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Scottish actor is downright effusive about the Season 7’s scripts.
“I wrote to Dan and David and I said I thought they were the best seven episodes they’ve ever written,” Glen said.
That’s pretty astonishing praise, given that Game of Thrones writers are regular Emmy winners.
So what makes Game of Thrones Season 7 so good?
“The story is going toward a conclusion,” Glen explains.
“There’s no sense of treading water. You have storylines colliding. And the evolving drama and relationships are as good as they have ever been. It definitely feels like the beginning of the end game.”
And what of Ser Jorah? Game of Thrones fans know that poor Jorah is currently suffering from both greyscale disease and a terrible case of unrequited love for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). According to Glen, Jorah’s Season 7 storyline will revolve around “whether he will survive this horrendous sickness he’s contracted.”
It’s hard not to notice that Glen is once again talking as though Jorah may die in Game of Thrones Season 7. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the actor — who has been on GoT since Season 1 — has been sounding a bit fatalistic in recent interviews.
“There’s quite a high death count in Game Of Thrones and they don’t blanch at removing favorite characters,” he said in an interview with Stuff.
“They just get rid of them in a brutal way. My end may well be close — but so far I’m doing OK.”
Meanwhile, Glen told Vanity Fair that he was sitting on pins and needles wondering if Jorah would survive Game of Thrones Season 7.
“In all honesty, no one is more worried than me. There’s a high death rate in Thrones, and I desperately don’t want to be part of that number. We’ll have to see what unfolds.”
He also told Radio Times that he’s feeling a little jumpy about Season 7 and Season 8.
“I don’t know of course if I am going to make the last [season],” Glen said.
“I am sort of doing a head count, but I think it’s certainly under ten people who were in the original pilot and have been in every season since. I have grown very attached to it. I love the people involved. Dan [Weiss] and David [Benioff] are very benign showrunners and very good people.”
If Jorah does succumb to greyscale disease or meets some other hideous end in Game of Thrones Season 7, will he at least enjoy a moment of romance with Daenerys before he goes?
Don’t count on it.
Glen told Vanity Fair that he doubts Jorah has enough game to land Dany.
“Jorah ponders [about sex] too much, I think. Not that Jorah’s ever going to get it. Well, he might. Who knows?”
And, in the latest EW interview, he made it clear that Jorah — who once betrayed Daenerys by spying on her for Westeros — is more interested in forgiveness than love.
“My feeling is Jorah would die a happy man if he could get forgiveness from Daenerys, He’s been in that mental territory half his life. He’s always been willing to sacrifices his life for her. His loss of life is not as big for him as seeking her redemption.”
