Harry Styles Shocked By Liam Payne Diss Over Debut Single: One Direction Comeback Unlikely

Harry Styles was rather surprised by Liam Payne’s recent comments, making it known that he didn’t like the singer’s debut single, “Sign of the Times.”

Payne had sat down for an interview with Music Choice, as revealed by CBS News, since he’s also been gearing up his own solo efforts. When asked what he thought of Harry Styles’ new single, even fans were stunned by the response Payne gave.

Hollywood Life claims that Harry Styles wasn’t happy with what Liam had to say about his song, having argued that even though the genre of music may not be what Payne likes, he’s being small-minded in not seeing that the 23-year-old is creating a style away from the generic pop songs the band were so used to making.

It would be extremely disappointing for Harry Styles to think that his own bandmates don’t support his solo music, which some sources believe could potentially be because Harry has been receiving an outpouring amount of support with the release of both his album and his debut single.

Could Liam Payne be jealous about the fact that Harry Styles is succeeding with the album and record sales? Not to mention that Styles’ tickets for his world tour sold out in minutes, with promoters now adding more dates to the lineup, having been left overwhelmed with a number of people that are wanting to see Harry perform his solo material.

When asked what he made of Harry Styles’ debut single, Liam Payne said the following, “Harry’s song I heard, and I’ll be honest with you, it’s not my sort of music. It’s not something I’d listen to, but I think he did a great job of doing what he wanted to do. That’s the way I’d put it best, I think.”

In response, Hollywood Life reveals, “Harry’s a bit surprised by Liam’s response about his music. He gets that Liam wants to focus on his own music coming out on Friday, but didn’t think it was necessary for him to lump Harry’s music into a certain category. Music is music.”

It’s puzzling for Harry Styles because he’s never had any issues with Liam — not even after the band went their separate ways. The least he could have done is acted like he cared about his former bandmate’s solo career — talking bad about the songs seems to be in very poor taste.

“Harry knows how well his music has been received and thinks Liam must be feeling a tinge of jealousy to make a comment like that. Harry doesn’t take any of this personally though. He’s on cloud nine now and really looking forward to his upcoming tour, and movie release.”

From television shows to selling out concerts and selling a significant amount of records with “Sign of the Times,” Harry Styles is proving himself to be a force that simply can’t be stopped in the music industry.

Liam, on the other hand, just recently debuted his own debut single titled “Strip That Down,” which hasn’t managed to get the same kind of positive response that Harry has.

It’s unclear whether or not Harry Styles and Liam Payne are still on speaking terms, but given the fact that the 23-year-old sees no wrongdoing in discrediting his bandmate’s music, particularly with this being his debut single, it would seem as if the duo isn’t as close as one may have thought they were.

It’s evidently clear that a One Direction reunion won’t be happening anytime soon, especially since Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry have all inked deals with different record labels. Their solo careers have become their main priority.
