Vince McMahon Sees Two WWE Superstars As The Faces Of The Company

There are a number of wrestlers that get all the opportunities in the world in the WWE and it all comes down to who Vince McMahon likes at any given time. Sportskeeda reported that there are two names that are at the top of Vince McMahon’s list of men who are the faces of the WWE right now — Roman Reigns and Randy Orton.

To little surprise, Vince McMahon sees Roman Reigns as the face of the Monday Night Raw brand. That makes sense and is one of the reasons why Roman Reigns did not turn heel before WrestleMania 33. McMahon sees Roman as someone who will get over as a babyface and believes that the fans who hate Roman Reigns are just a minority of fans who are loudest.

While Roman Reigns is expected, it is slightly surprising to see Randy Orton as who Vince McMahon sees as the face of SmackDown Live. Now, Orton has been very successful and is a 13-time world champion and the current WWE Champion on SmackDown Live.

While Randy Orton is much older than Roman Reigns, there are still storylines to be told with the wrestler. There have been murmurs that Randy could end up adding to his world title numbers and end up facing John Cena to finally break the record that Cena currently holds with Ric Flair at 16.

However, that doesn’t mean that Randy Orton will lose his title anytime soon. At the age of 37, Orton still has time to go and is actually younger than AJ Styles. What is interesting is that Vince McMahon sees Randy as the face of SmackDown Live over AJ Styles. Rumors heading into the WWE Superstar Shakeup indicated that McMahon was very high on Styles and wanted him on Monday Night Raw.

This Sunday at WWE Backlash, Randy Orton is set to defend his WWE world title against Jinder Mahal while AJ Styles is trying to win the United States Championship from Kevin Owens. It looks like the WWE might also be pushing for an eventual feud between AJ Styles and Randy Orton down the line — possibly as early as SummerSlam.

Vince McMahon reportedly chose to push Randy Orton last August. McMahon put the push into motion in the feud with Bray Wyatt and then had Orton win the Royal Rumble and then the world title at WrestleMania 33. That win gave Randy Orton his 13th WWE world title and put him closer to the John Cena record.

Sportskeeda reports that there is almost no chance that Jinder Mahal wins the WWE world title from Randy Orton on Sunday night. The AJ Styles match is up in the air as the WWE has booked matches between Kevin Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura for the United States Championship at SmackDown Live house shows after Backlash.

As always, matches are subject to change at WWE live events and the matches could end up non-title matches if AJ Styles wins the United States Championship this Sunday night. Regardless, it looks like AJ Styles will remain in the main event picture even if Randy Orton is the chosen one for SmackDown Live at this time.

As for Roman Reigns, it looks like he is moving on into some minor feuds to run out the rest of the year. At Extreme Rules, Roman Reigns is involved in the five-way match to determine who fights Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire in July. Roman Reigns is actually expected to lose that match and move on into a feud with The Miz after that.

The thought on Monday Night Raw is that Roman Reigns will end up winning the Intercontinental Championship and then the only title left for him to win is the WWE Universal Championship. Brock Lesnar is expected to hold the title until WrestleMania 34 and then Roman Reigns will finally win it there.
