Andy Cohen Denies Phaedra Parks’ Claims That ‘RHOA’ Producers Planted Drugging Lie In Her Ear

Andy Cohen refuses to let Phaedra Parks bring down the Real Housewives of Atlanta staff with her. The producer and host of Watch What Happens Live recently shut down the rumor that a RHOA producer planted what he dubbed as a “megawatt” lie to Phaedra Parks.

After being exposed as a liar on national television, Phaedra Parks tried to blame the producers, during the reunion, for planting the rumor that Kandi Burruss tried to drug and rape Porsha Stewart.

This segment never aired, however. Apparently, cast members of these reality shows aren’t allowed to break the “fourth wall” and speak directly to the audience or reference the cast in any way.

A source connected to RHOA told Page Six, “Phaedra tried to blame producers for manipulating the scenario, and it was cut from the reunion show. They’re not allowed to break the ‘fourth wall’ and talk about production. It may not have been entirely Phaedra’s fault, but she has to take the fall.”

Still, the reveal shocked some viewers on social media, who began questioning the legitimacy of the show. Many people were upset that it seemed like the RHOA producers would manufacture drama for ratings, then let Phaedra take the fall for it. It seems as if that’s not exactly how things happened, however.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club, Andy Cohen set the record straight, and basically proved Phaedra Parks to be more unreliable than she already is.

When asked if Phaedra Parks was telling the truth, Andy Cohen said that he was surprised that Phaedra would say that the rumors came from him.

Cohen explained, “You can’t tell them, ‘Oh, go say this on camera.’ It just doesn’t work.”

“Have you ever met a ‘Real Housewife?’ They do their own thing. That’s why we hire them!” he continued.

Andy Cohen didn’t officially confirm or deny whether Phaedra Parks would be returning for Season 10 of RHOA, though multiples reports have stated that she would not.

“We’re looking at next season and you have to look at where we left off, which is none of the women want to engage with her,” he explained. “That’s a tough place to come back from… If it’s five against one, it’s also not fair to the one. It’s really not.”

So while Andy isn’t spilling the beans on Phaedra’s future as a housewife, it’s pretty clear that Phaedra will not be returning next season.

According to Page Six, a source also confirmed that Phaedra Parks will not be returning next season.

“There are lines listed in all cast members’ contracts that they cannot cross,” a source said. “Libel is one of them. She’s in breach of contract and the cast basically said, ‘Us or her.'”

What isn’t clear is whether or not original cast members Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak will be reclaiming their spot on the cast. TMZ reported that both ladies are in negotiations to return back to RHOA.

Andy Cohen played coy about those rumors as well, however.

“There’s a lot of rumors about season 10, and the answer is… we haven’t started shooting,” Cohen said. “We will let you know as soon as it happens.”

Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will premiere sometime this fall. In the meantime, you can catch Andy Cohen’s interview in full, below.
