Wes Welker’s Penthouse Goes Up For Sale In Boston

Wes Welker’s Penthouse is up for sale. The New England Patriots receiver put the Boston property up for sale last Summer but he’s recently dropped the price down to $2.5 million.

According to NESN, Welker bought the property for $1.8 million shortly after he signed with the Patriots in 2007. The property was listed at $2.75 million this summer but Welker has now knocked $200,000 off the price.

Bankrate reports that Welker’s Penthouse overlooks downtown Boston, has three bedrooms, a wet boor and a rooftop deck.

Welker’s Penthouse may not be as elaborate as some of the other celebrity homes going up for sale (check out David Hasselhoff’s California home) but it is in the heart of Boston located next to the Charles River and Beacon Hill.

Welker is currently a major part of the New England Patriots but his contract expires at the end of this season. Welker was given the franchise tag during the off-season and agreed to a one-year $9.515 million contract. The star wide receiver, who has more than 1,000 yards this season, may be putting his penthouse on the market because he’s planning to leave the team next season. Or, he may be anticipating a huge contract and a slightly larger Boston home.
