After Friend’s Horrific Murder, Jill Duggar And Derick Dillard Move Back To The US

Jill Duggar, her husband, Derick Dillard, and their 2-year-old son have made it back to the United States in the wake of their friend’s horrific murder. The pair had always hinted that Central America was a difficult place to live in and that violence was rife, but they never really clued fans in on the danger. But this past week, it became apparent after a good friend of theirs was found dead by a river after being kidnapped.

The pair had always planned to return to the United States so Jill Duggar could give birth to their second child, but it appears they may have fled early due to their friend’s horrible murder.

Jill Duggar wrote about the horrible tragedy on the family’s blog.

“We received a phone call on Monday from a friend here in Central America informing us that one of our other good friends (a fellow Christian) had been murdered the day before and that his family had found his body down by the river earlier that morning!”

“As you’ll recall from our last email, we talked about these friends of ours who we’d had the opportunity to invite into the hospitality house for a meal recently as they have been going through a really tough time after the death of his grandmother and murder of his 20 year old cousin and then the stroke his daughter had when she received the news. Now they have been spending most of the time in their home for fear of being kidnapped or killed as violence has escalated in their area.”

After the tragic incident, Jill Duggar was under fire from many of the family’s fans for putting their young son in danger. She has also been blasted by those online for putting her unborn child in danger by living in El Salvador during her pregnancy where the Zika virus is rife. If a mother is infected with Zika during her pregnancy, there is a high chance the child may be born with issues such as microcephaly or other very serious birth defects.

In light of this tragedy, Jill Duggar celebrated her birthday with her husband, Derick Dillard, who wrote a heartfelt post to his wife on their family blog.

“I am so thankful that God chose you to be my helpmate in life. You are a radiant example of the love of Christ. Walking through life with you has been one of the greatest joys I have ever experienced. I have seen the love and care you have shown your family, Israel, and they people we are working with every day. You make me a better person every day. I love you with all that I am and it is such an honor to be your husband!”

Jill Duggar, in addition to mourning the death of her friend and preparing to give birth to her second child, is in the middle of a lawsuit with several of her sisters. Papers confirming that Jill Duggar and her sisters were molested by their eldest brother, Josh Duggar, were leaked in 2015 by the police department and In Touch Weekly. Because of the sensitive nature of the documents, the girls are fighting for justice after having some of their most painful family secrets leaked without their consent.

Jessa Duggar (now Seewald) went on television with Jill Duggar to discuss the scandal and the leaked documents. Some of the Duggar sisters had never mentioned it while Jill and Jessa spoke about the incidents. However, it is likely that they would not have done so if the police and news outlet had not leaked the scandal without their permission.
