WWE Rumors: ‘Backlash’ 2017 Results Spoilers Revealed By Latest Match Winner Betting Odds?

Will WWE rumors of a Jinder Mahal World Championship win come true? The latest WWE Backlash 2017 results spoilers may have been revealed based on how the betting odds are looking. At Sunday’s pay-per-view, the former mid-card performer who is now a No. 1 contender, challenges Randy Orton for the belt. In addition, AJ Styles is trying to win the United States Championship from Kevin Owens, and Breezeango will try to become first-time tag team champions. How many of the titles will actually change hands, though, when the latest WWE event has concluded?

As CBS Sports reported a few days ago, it’s a stacked card for Sunday’s WWE Backlash PPV in Chicago. Among those matches will be a Kickoff Show match featuring Tye Dillinger against Aiden English, Shinsuke Nakamura making his main roster debut in the ring against Dolph Ziggler, and Luke Harper taking on former Wyatt Family brother Erick Rowan. Also, Sami Zayn attempts to get some revenge against Baron Corbin, while the WWE women’s division will get the spotlight in a six women’s tag team match. While the WWE SmackDown Women’s title won’t be on the line Sunday, the tag team titles, United States and World Championships all will be defended.

According to WWE Leaks, the latest betting odds for this pay-per-view were released this past week. For the most part, the WWE odds for PPV events can give an indication of who the big winners will be in each of the matches. A few times there have been surprises, such as Brock Lesnar’s shocking win over The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but typically these odds could give some results spoilers, so WWE fans should avoid reading on to prevent possibly knowing the outcomes.

The latest WWE odds come from the Paddy Power Irish sports book, which offers most of the matches for Sunday’s Backlash event, with the exception of the Kickoff Show bout. Right now, Shinsuke Nakamura is a “King of Strong Odds” as he’s listed at 1 to 7 odds, or a moneyline price of -700 to win, while his first main PPV opponent, Dolph Ziggler is a 4 to 1 underdog, or +400. In other singles action, Luke Harper is currently listed at 8 to 15 odds to win, with Erick Rowan an 11 to 8 underdog. “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin is also a favorite over Sami Zayn. Corbin has 2 to 5 odds, as of this report, while Zayn is a 7 to 4 underdog.

The women’s division features a six-woman tag team match at Sunday’s WWE pay-per-view. It will be the team known as “The Welcoming Committee” featuring Tamina, Natalya, and Carmella, taking on the new alliance of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and WWE SmackDown Women’s champ Naomi. As of this report, the heel side led by Natalya are considered 5 to 4 underdogs, while Naomi, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch are slight favorites at 4 to 7. However, one has to think this match could favor the heels possibly getting the win to extend the feud, or even set up one of them getting a title shot against Naomi by pinning her.

How about those championships that are on the line this Sunday? Tyler Breeze and Fandango haven’t really been in this position yet, so it seems they are merely in place as challengers to give Usos an opponent besides American Alpha. Jimmy and Jey are listed as 4 to 7 favorites as of this report, while Breezeango is listed as 6 to 5 underdogs to win the match or titles.

The possible spoilers start to roll in with the two major championships that will be on the line. AJ Styles will try to win the United States title from current champion Kevin Owens. The rumors are that Styles is going to be involved in a major match at WrestleMania, and probably contending for the WWE World Championship again down the road.

However, as of Sunday, it looks like he could become the new United States champion. Styles has never held the U.S. title, but is an 8 to 11 favorite to defeat Kevin Owens, who is listed at “even.” That means Styles is a minor favorite at -137 compared to Owens at +100 in this close matchup. These odds could shift towards the champ as the PPV approaches so stay tuned.

Will fans witness Jinder Mahal pinning Orton for the World Championship on Sunday? [Image by WWE]

Finally, there’s the big match that everyone has been wondering about. Jinder Mahal is also in a unique position, getting his first shot ever at the WWE World Championship. There had been rumors that Vince McMahon was high on Jinder’s look and his work he’s put in, which got him to this spot. However, he’s taking on a longtime fan favorite in Randy Orton. Some fans feel Orton is stale as a champion, but there are others who are bewildered that it’s Jinder Mahal facing him at a pay-per-view. Nonetheless, the two will compete in the title match on Sunday.

It was noted by WWE Leaks that Jinder’s odds lowered, meaning more bettors were backing the underdog. Mahal had been listed as a 7 to 2 underdog but has since shifted to a 5 to 2 underdog, which is a price of +250. Meanwhile, “The Viper” continues to hold the role of the favorite to win and walk out of Sunday’s WWE Backlash still the champion. His latest odds were at 1 to 4 to emerge victorious from this match. If that’s the case, one has to wonder if Mahal will continue to get shots at Orton’s title after this event, or if another superstar will enter the picture.

WWE fans, how do you feel about the speculated winners based on the betting odds for Sunday’s Backlash pay-per-view? Will the favorites all end up being winners on Sunday, or will there be any surprises?
