‘RHOC’ Season 12 Cast: Kelly Dodd, Meghan King Edmonds Return With Former Orange County Housewives

Andy Cohen has just confirmed that Kelly Dodd will be returning for The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 12. After several reports claiming that the RHOC newcomer is leaving the show, the Housewives executive producer revealed that Dodd has officially signed up for another season. Meghan King Edmonds will also return as a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Early this week, Andy Cohen gave a cast update for RHOC Season 12. The Watch What Happens Live host teased fans that next season is going to be “really good,” especially with the return of some of the old housewives. If that’s not exciting enough, Cohen also said that there is going to be a shift in alliance in Season 12. Could he be talking about Dodd and Tamra Judge’s alleged budding friendship?

“The new season is, it’s shifting alliances. I think you’re gonna be surprised by Kelly Dodd this season,” he said.

For months, Kelly Dodd has been dropping hints about her departure from The Real Housewives of Orange County. As Radar Online previously reported, Dodd told a fan back in January that she’s “probably not” returning for Season 12. The reality star said that although she’s not closing any doors, she was “unlikely” to come back.

An insider, however, told the website that Dodd, along with her BFF Vicki Gunvalson, is definitely returning for Season 12. Her tweets were allegedly a way for her to try to get the fans talking, which she could use to get Bravo to increase her salary. Seeing as how many RHOC fans want her to come back next season, she could definitely use this as leverage.

“Vicki and Kelly are going to return. They are just trying to get more money since they know that they bring the drama and RHOC needs their drama,” the insider said.

It definitely seems that there is more drama coming Vicki Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd’s way. As Andy Cohen previously hinted, there was a shift in alliance in RHOC Season 12. Early this month, All About the Tea reported that Tamra Judge reached out to Dodd even before the filming for Season 12 started. Following Heather Dubrow’s exit, Judge was desperately looking for a new ally and convinced Dodd to switch teams.

“Tamra knows that she’s about to be smacked with her past, and needs Kelly to be in her corner. Kelly has fallen for Tamra’s fakery—the same garbage she fed Gretchen Rossi back in the day,” the insider said.

The source added that Dodd made the decision to side with Judge because she wanted Season 12 to be as drama-free as possible.

“She has checked out, and really only cares about collecting a paycheck,” the source claimed.

In other news, Meghan King Edmonds is also said to be coming back as a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 12. Even though there were several reports in the past confirming that she’s not returning to RHOC, the new mom reportedly had a change of heart. Edmonds originally wanted to move back to St. Louis with her husband and her newborn daughter, Aspen.

Insiders told Radar Online that Edmonds had to “really plead” and show the producers that she wanted to return for RHOC Season 12. Edmonds was allegedly the last housewife to get a contract and was only offered the full-time cast position because a deal fell through with a new potential cast member.

“Producers felt that bringing her back full time could be good for her and good for ratings,” the source said.
