Will Christina Aguilera Diss ‘The Voice’ And Join ‘American Idol’ Amid Judge War?

Christina Aguilera could allegedly be ready to throw the ultimate diss in The Voice’s direction.

Amid much speculation over who else will be heading to the upcoming 2018 reboot of American Idol after Katy Perry confirmed on May 16 that she would be a judge when the show returns, sources are now claiming that Idol producers are allegedly desperate to get Aguilera on board and steal her from the rival show.

“ABC is ready to make a serious offer to steal Christina from The Voice,” a source alleged to Hollywood Life of Christina potentially jumping ship from The Voice to American Idol, claiming that the network are prepared to shell out some serious cash to get Christina to sign on as a judge to the upcoming reboot.

“They are looking to pay Christina a lot and sell the fact to her that The Voice has forgotten about her,” alleged the insider of Aguilera’s potential new gig on another singing show. “Idol is very much ready to make the move and hopes Christina bites.”

The Aguilera claims come shortly after TMZ reported that Idol producers were left seriously unhappy with The Voice after the NBC show nabbed two former contestants as coaches for Season 13 and 14, which could be why they’re supposedly so keen to poach Christina who was an original coach when the show debuted back in 2011.

After it was announced that Jennifer Hudson – who came in seventh place on Season 3 of Idol – and Kelly Clarkson – who won the very first season – would be joining the show as coaches over the coming months, sources alleged to the site that ABC seriously weren’t happy.

Prior to the Aguilera speculation, the site claimed that The Voice went “into overdrive to lock down” both Kelly and Jennifer as a diss to Idol after ABC confirmed that they would be reviving the show in March 2018.

An insider claimed that American Idol producers “think they became sitting ducks the second Kelly and Jennifer’s names got out,” and “won’t be fooled again” when it comes to possible judges prior to speculation they could be looking to get revenge by poaching Aguilera.

Notably, Christina Aguilera appeared on the first three seasons of The Voice after it debuted on NBC in 2011 and has since returned to the talent search intermittently on Seasons 5, 8, and 10.

Aguilera has not commented on rumors she may be heading to American Idol, though NBC producers have already confirmed that she will not be back for Season 13 of The Voice later this year despite much speculation that Christina may have been returning after two seasons away.

Latin Times reported in January that Christina was allegedly looking to return to The Voice this year before it was confirmed that American Idol would be back on our screens, as the site claimed a source close to production let slip that Aguilera was allegedly “really interested in returning to the show” for Season 13.

While it’s still possible Aguilera could be returning for Season 14 as Kelly, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton are so far the only confirmed coaches, if Christina does decide to jump ship and join American Idol as coach there’s no doubting that that would be a major diss in The Voice’s direction.

The possibility of Christina joining the reboot has also divided fans online, with some urging the star to head to ABC while other’s shut down reports and claimed Aguilera wouldn’t be willing to turn her back on her former show.

“@AmericanIdol hire [Christina] as a judge!! Payback for The Voice!” @joshuaalexoffic suggested, though @XTinaLilKim83 hit back by claiming that Aguilera “will NEVER do American Idol! She does NOT like the way the judges bash the contestants and she will NOT betray her Voice family!”

Do you think Christina Aguilera could throw out a serious diss at The Voice by joining the upcoming American Idol reboot as a judge?
