Zac Efron Snags Ted Bundy Role But Fails At Dating, Fills Instagram With Alexandra Daddario, Brother & Movies

Zac Efron has had a turbulent few years, but that doesn’t mean that he is ready to throw in the towel. The former High School Musical star has been finding his niche in bro comedies, which makes fun of himself as a tan and muscular guy that loves to work out with his bros. Most recently, he made a splash by snagging the role of Ted Bundy, a serial killer, for his next movie project, which is helping him diversify the roles he plays on screen.

After years of playing the teenage heartthrob for Disney, Zac Efron is finally breaking out of the mold that Hollywood has put on him. Playing Ted Bundy in his next movie will help casting agent see him not as a bodyguard or a frat bro, but a serious actor.

“Ahead of the release of his latest film Baywatch, Zac Efron has signed on to a new film project, and he’ll be playing one of the world’s most notorious serial killers,” reports the Hollywood Reporter. “Efron will star as Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which will be helmed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory).”

Before getting the chance to become Ted Bundy onscreen, the 29-year-old actor has made his splash in many of the summer feel-good movies like Dirty Grandpa, Neighbors and now, the upcoming Baywatch.

His most recent movie project has also landed him in the presence of some great beauties like Alexandra Daddario. Zac has been spending a lot of time with his co-star as they do the press tour for the movie, and has been throwing very subtle hints of flirting on his Instagram.

They also have been spending a lot of down time together casually hanging out, which means that they are getting to know each other outside of work as well. In fact, Alexandra and Zac are so close now that they do not feel they have to hide details like personal grooming from each other!

“While sunning in beautiful Miami Friday, Alexandra Daddario narrowly avoided a major fashion faux pas,” reports Daily Mail.

“Flashing her legs in shorts shorts, the 31-year-old starlet must have realized she’d missed a spot while shaving and quickly fetched a razor. Her Baywatch costar Zac Efron stood close by, clearly not bothered by her potentially fuzzy pins.”

Ever since the Baywatch actor broke up with Sami Miro, he has not been able to get back on the dating game. Instead, he has moved in with his brother and has decided to find his own happiness first before trying his hand on finding a lifetime partner.

On that journey towards self-actualization, it seems like his brother Dylan has been a big part.

“If I’m dating someone, one of the few people I need to weigh in on the situation is my brother,” the 29-year-old star said to Cosmopolitan.

“We live together, and we’re different in a lot of ways, but he’s really grounded. He lived a more normal life than I did growing up, so he’s a great barometer for me. He’ll be like, ‘Are you sure you’re happy? Is this what you really want?’ Having my little brother around is a really great thing.”

Zac is not shy about including his brother on his Instagram, giving shoutouts to the awesome things that Dylan does.

Despite the fact that his dating life is not going well, that doesn’t mean that his exes are suffering from the same fate. His most famous relationship has been with Vanessa Hudgens, his co-star from High School Musical days. Since breaking up, she has found her long-term love in Austin Butler. Because of their busy Hollywood schedules, she often finds herself separated from her boyfriend, but that has not discouraged her from this rare romance.

When talking about how she keeps at this long-distance relationship, Vanessa mentioned “communication” absolutely being key.

“I think that if anything’s bothering you, don’t hold it in,” she said to People Magazine. “Always bring it up and just talk about it. Uncensor yourself and just be open.”

This probably got Zac Efron thinking about finding something stable in his life. In his most recently interview with Cosmopolitan, he admitted that he is feeling the pressure of age as he tries to revamp his dating life.

“I didn’t think much about settling down until recently,” he said.

“Now that I’m getting closer to my 30s, I’m around some great relationships and I’ve seen expert couples at work. I’m realizing that you have to find your own happiness before you can make somebody else happy.”
