‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Who Is Valentin? Alex Toying With Mystery Man On The Verge

General Hospital spoilers reveal twins Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Alexandra Devane are on the verge of sending Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) into a rampage because this is the second time the two have ruined his life. But is it really Valentin Cassadine they’re messing with or is that handsome face just a facade? Are Alex and Anna up against something they don’t understand?

Who Is Valentin Cassadine?

Back in his WSB days, General Hospital history tells us Valentin’s name was Ivan Theodore. When we first saw the guy on Cassadine Island last year, he introduced himself as Theo Hart, a humble island fisherman. But who is he really? Is he Valentin? Is he Ivan? Is he Theo? The answer might be somewhere in between and the key to his true identity might lie in the ashes of a torched British boarding school.

Anna was keenly interested in why Valentin burned down his boarding school. Valentin claimed his father Mikkos Cassadine (John Colicos) abandoned him at the British school to keep him safe from his wicked stepmother Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers). But is that all an elaborate fictitious backstory General Hospital invented? Was Ivan Theodore the roommate of the real Valentin Cassadine?

Is The Real Valentin Dead?

Remember when Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) found those bones down in the catacombs under the mansion on Cassadine Island? Lulu thought for a second it was Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) based on jewelry he was wearing, but it was not Luke. General Hospital spoilers tease that Lulu might have stumbled over the bones of the real Valentin Cassadine that was murdered by Helena.

We saw on General Hospital last week that hunchback Ivan Theodore sold the Chimera Project to Helena and she called him “Valentin Cassadine.” Did Helena know Ivan was planning to steal Valentin’s identity and she was in on the plan? Could Helena have helped transform Ivan into her stepson but then lost control of him? General Hospital is taking liberties with history, so anything is possible right now.

Anna And Alex Wreck Another Life

General Hospital spoilers tell us that no matter who Valentin is now, or who he was back in his WSB days, Anna and Alex tore his life apart. Anna talked him into stealing secrets and then Alex stepped in for her sister and slept with him. Together, they got him to betray the WSB, ruin his promising career, and left him marked for death by the spy group.

New General Hospital spoilers from Soap Central tell us Anna is trapped at a hospital in the UK but will soon rescue herself and return to Port Charles to take on her sister Alex. But once again, the Devane twins have wrecked Valentin’s life. He’s lost his wife Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) and could possibly lose custody of Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).

Lots Of Cassadine Loose Ends

General Hospital spoilers hint we’ll have closure on a lot of these Cassadine loose ends over the remainder of May sweeps. There may be more flashbacks of Helena coming to reveal the nefarious deal she cut with “Valentin” to get her hands on the Chimera Project and perhaps to help Ivan Theodore become a faux Cassadine. But is Valentin, no matter who he is, a good or a bad guy?

Perhaps like the Chimera, a hybrid of three species (lion, goat and snake), Valentin is a hybrid as well. Valentin was a good guy in his past, a lion who wanted to help the WSB take down bad guys. But after he was made into a scapegoat by Anna and Alex, he shed his skin and emerged as a snake – a very handsome snake thanks to a series of surgeries that left him handsome and strong.

Yet within this Valentin, there’s still that same intelligent, shy, broken guy who struggled with his handicaps and just wanted to be loved. We’ll find out more about who he really is, whether he’s truly a Cassadine, and if he’s working for the good guys or the bad guys before the end of May sweeps, according to the latest General Hospital spoilers.
