Is Gwen Stefani Engaged? Source Claims She’s Hoping Blake Shelton Will Propose
Gwen Stefani and her boyfriend of about a year and a half may be headed toward the next step in their relationship: a proposal.
According to a new report, Gwen Stefani is completely in love and ready to walk down the aisle. In fact, the mother of three and current coach of The Voice Season 12 is hoping to begin planning her potentially upcoming wedding during her hiatus from the series later this year.
“[Gwen Stefani] wants to work on music and be a mom during her break from The Voice, but one of her main goals is to prepare a wedding,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life on May 16. “She wants to be engaged soon to Blake and wants to take some of her free time to focus on the wedding.”
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton went public with their relationship in November of 2015 during an afterparty for the Country Music Awards, which were attended by Shelton and his former wife, Miranda Lambert. As fans will recall, Shelton and Lamber called it quits on their marriage in July of 2015, while Stefani announced her own divorce just weeks later.
Gwen Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale for 13 years, and the former couple shares three sons: 10-year-old Kingston, 8-year-old Zuma, and 3-year-old Apollo.
Although Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been dating for less than two years, they appear to be functioning as a family and according to Hollywood Life, Stefani is waiting on the edge of her seat for a proposal from her country singer boyfriend.
“[Gwen Stefani] just needs Blake to pull the trigger and ask for her hand in marriage so she can start prepping her dream wedding with him,” the insider added.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have faced rumors of an impending engagement ever since they began dating in 2015, and at the same time, they’ve also been accused of secret pregnancies, none of which were proven to be true.
As for rumors of a possible engagement, People Magazine told fans last year that everyone was expecting an engagement to happen at some point.
“They are not engaged yet,” a source close to Gwen Stefani told the magazine. “Everyone is expecting it to happen at some point, though. It seems the timing [for an engagement] just hasn’t been right, but Gwen is very, very happy with Blake. She always acts giddy when she talks about Blake.”
“There are no immediate plans for their future, but it’s a serious relationship,” another insider added.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton fell in love while filming the ninth season of The Voice, and as the series has continued, so has the couple’s relationship.
“Their relationship is almost too good to be true,” said the Gwen Stefani source. “They are very much alike and really have a very special relationship. All the things that need to work out for two people to merge lives have worked out.”
While Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton appeared on the latest season of The Voice together, they will soon part ways as Stefani leaves the show to make room for new coach Jennifer Hudson and the series’ returning coaches, including Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Miley Cyrus. The “Wrecking Ball” singer first appeared during Season 11.
