Emily VanCamp And ‘Revenge’ Co-Star Josh Bowman Announce Their Engagement
Emily VanCamp has confirmed the news of her engagement to former Revenge co-star Josh Bowman after six years of dating.
The romance between the two former Revenge co-stars, Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman, is as magical as anyone could wish their own romance to be. And their relationship took an even more magical turn when Josh recently proposed to Emily in a forest.
Emily VanCamp was quick to document the big moment on her Instagram account, sharing a photo of herself standing in the forest with her hands covering her face, flashing a beautiful engagement ring on her finger.
Emily VanCamp’s fanbase exploded with glee and excitement over her apparent engagement, which, from the looks of it, took place last Wednesday. However, it wasn’t until Monday that the Revenge actress confirmed their engagement.
Dishing on Josh Bowman’s proposal in the forest, Emily VanCamp told Entertainment Tonight at the Fox Upfronts on Monday that her Revenge co-star from 2011 to 2015 and now fiancé “did good” with the proposal.
In fact, Emily VanCamp didn’t see it coming, as Josh Bowman took her for a hike – the thing that the former Revenge co-stars that met on the set of the ABC drama regularly do – in the forest.
Emily VanCamp, who describes Josh Bowman’s proposal as “great” and “beautiful,” hasn’t lost her sleep over wedding preparations though. In fact, the Revenge star revealed that she never was the type of girl who plots out her wedding years or decades in advance.
“I never was the girl who knew what she wanted to do for a wedding, but just enjoying this moment, it’s sort of – it’s really nice, you know.”
This won’t be the first time Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman will be walking down the aisle, as their Revenge characters Emily Thorne and Daniel Grayson have previously wed one another in Season 3 of the show. So when tying the knot in real life, the lovebirds may experience déjà vu.
Emily VanCamp, meanwhile, may experience a déjà vu of her own soon if her new medical drama The Resident, which was picked up by FOX last week, proves to be as successful as Revenge once was.
In the same interview with Entertainment Tonight, Emily VanCamp revealed her reaction to the news of FOX picking up The Resident as a pilot, which came just “two hours” after Josh Bowman proposed to her last Wednesday.
It was truly a magical day for Emily VanCamp, who described her entire last week as “crazy” but “really positive.” The Revenge star has high expectations about the upcoming Fox show.
The fact that Emily VanCamp confirmed her engagement to Josh Bowman and got candid about him “doing good” at proposing to her in the forest comes as somewhat a surprise, as the duo have always been a notoriously private couple.
Emily VanCamp, who has for six years kept her romance with Josh Bowman under wraps, confirmed in her 2014’s interview with Elle Canada that she “barely talks” about her Revenge co-star in interviews.
In that interview, Emily VanCamp also opened up that it’s sometimes “hard for my family to watch” Revenge, as Josh Bowman’s character had raised his hands against his onscreen wife.
“But we’re actors. None of that lives in any of us. Thank God!”
Emily VanCamp’s Resident co-star Matt Czuchry (Gilmore Girls, The Good Wife) revealed while speaking to Entertainment Tonight during the same event that their new medical drama will be “a little darker, a little edgier and based in reality and kind of stories people haven’t seen before.”
