Did Harry Styles Talk About Taylor Swift In ‘Two Ghosts’? One Direction Singer Opens Up

There was a time when people judged Taylor Swift for her lyrics and tried to find out connections between her lyrics and Harry Styles. Things have changed, however, and now people are worried if the One Direction singer is now talking about his ex in a new song. According to some, Styles’ new song “Two Ghosts” is about the girl he dated five years back, and that’s none other than Taylor Swift.

Apple Music released the trailer for Harry Styles: Behind the Album, a documentary about the singer’s songwriting process. In one of the scenes, the lyrics are seen in a notebook. According to the lyrics, it is about “some lips red.” These words instantly reminded people about Taylor’s “Style,” where she sings about “that red lip, classic thing that you like.” Styles’ lyrics also say that he can’t touch what he sees.

“We’re not who we used to be/We’re not who we used to be/We’re just two ghosts standing in…”

Harry Styles was asked if he wrote the song about Taylor Swift, with whom he had a rather brief affair. The One Direction singer had an interesting way of answering it. The 23-year-old has said he loves the fact that poetry gives open interpretations to different people. He loves that he can talk about his personal life in his songs but still keep it private.

“I’ve never really felt like I’ve had to explain my personal life,” Harry Styles told USA Today. “I understand that people will dissect stuff like that, which is amazing, that people care enough about you to try and figure out what it means.”

So, basically, Styles refused to give any hint about the connection between “Two Ghosts” and Taylor Swift, who at times admits having been inspired by her past flings. Styles, however, talked about Taylor Swift and her songs. He also talked about if she made songs for him. He previously said in an article by Rolling Stone that he was not sure if Taylor wrote “Style” and “Out of the Woods” about him.

However, he seemed fine with the idea about ex partners writing songs about each other and the old times. According to Harry, it is like paying tribute to the times that had together. It is better than whining about past relationships.

“You’re celebrating the fact it was powerful and made you feel something, rather than ‘this didn’t work out, and that’s bad.'”

For his new songs, Harry Styles won’t mind if people speculate about its meaning. If they try to find a connection between the words and his ex, he is amused by it. However, he believes people can understand what the songs are all about if they listen to the songs carefully.

The release of his new album has all the possibilities of making Harry Styles one of world’s biggest pop stars. According to him, the new songs are about “stories.” The expectations are especially high after his massive debut single “Sign of the Times,” which has been compared with Elton John and David Bowie.

Harry has said that he was listening to a lot of Harry Nilsson during the process of making the album. The One Direction singer loves his honest lyrics. He also loves that fact that Nilsson never tries “to sound clever.” The singer explained that this new album had a therapeutic effect on him.

“It’s so much easier saying something to an instrument than it is to a person.”
