Joe Jackson Stroke: Famous Father’s Condition Better As He Talks, Makes Jokes In Hospital

Joe Jackson’s stroke has left the patriarch of the Jackson family in what was initially described as serious condition in a Las Vegas hospital, but by Friday he had recovered and was in good spirits.

As Fox News reported, Joe Jackson suffered the stroke on Wednesday and was taken quickly to a hospital in Las Vegas, where he lives. His condition was described as serious, a source close to the family noted.

“He’s in ‘serious’ condition. Joe has been struggling with his health a lot over the past three or four months,” said the source. “The good thing is that he was taken immediately to the hospital as he was with a couple of people at the time.”

But by Friday news of the Joe Jackson stroke had taken a turn for the better. In less than two days since he was hospitalized, Jackson was reportedly back to normal and telling jokes with family, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Jackson went to the hospital after having trouble standing up and walking and had pain in his head, a family spokesperson noted. The 83-year-old Jackson then called a friend to get a ride to the hospital.

“He’s back to the regular Joe Jackson, cracking jokes and talking,” family friend Rutt Premsrirut told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which noted that his wife Katherine Jackson was on the way to Las Vegas from her home in Los Angeles to be with Joe.

The Joe Jackson stroke was not his first brush with a medical emergency. Jackson has had two small strokes before Wednesday’s incident, a spokesperson said.
