£64 Million Lottery Win Remains Unclaimed

A lottery winner, who has still yet to claim their £63.8 ($100) million prize from the 8 June draw, only has one week left to collect their prize.

The ticket was bought in the English county of Hertfordshire, in the Stevenage and Hitchin area, with the victor correctly predicting all five numbers – 5, 11, 22, 34 and 40, plus the Lucky Star numbers of 9 and 11.

They have until 23:00, GMT, next Wednesday to claim their prize, otherwise the ticket will expire and the money will be spread out amongst National Lottery’s Good Causes.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said, “We’re urging everyone to look one last time everywhere a missing ticket could be hiding. We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings.”

“Time really is running out for the mystery ticket-holder to come forward and claim this phenomenal prize.” They then went on to add, ” Whilst we’ve done a huge amount of activity to raise awareness of the prize, and we’re using ad vans this week to make sure as many people as possible get the message again, we’re still waiting to pay the money out to the rightful ticket-holder.”

The 8 June draw should have seen two winners claim £63,837,543.60. The owner of the other ticket, from Belgium, has already collected their money.

The National Lottery has gone to extreme measure to raise awareness of the issue. They’ve hired a town crier to drive around in a Lamborghini, displayed the information on advertising boards, and visited Luton Airport to remind people returning from holiday to check their tickets.
