Florida Assistant Football Coach Canned For Swearing. Bonus: His Name Is Dale Rude

Tampa, FL (AHN) – Alonso High Defensive Coordinator Dale Rude was reportedly dismissed for “cursing” during the Ravens’ loss to Hillsborough on Sept. 25.
In a Tampa Bay Online report, Ravens coach Mike Heldt said that Rude “got fired for cursing” on the sidelines.
Hillsborough County school district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe indicated in the reports that Alonso’s defensive guru quit after being barred from coaching in the second half of Friday’s game at Hillsborough.
TampaBay.com reported that Rude was escorted from the stadium following the incident.
Heldt was then slapped a two-week suspension by school administrators.
The suspension cited the responsibility of the head coach for the actions of players and his staff, the TampaBay.com reported
Rude’s dismissal coupled by the relief of Middleton assistant football coach Dan Mancuso from his duties on Sept. 28 have caught the attention of football coaches, including those at private schools.
It is widely perceived that the occasional slip of the tongue is permissible among coaches especially during games and pep talks to drive a point.
In the TBO report, no coach interviewed has condoned the use of profanity, but nearly all admitted to the occasional slip of the tongue.
Meanwhile, reports attributed Mancuso’s dismissal to a “difference in offensive philosophy” and did not involve profanity.
