PicLens: Image Browsing Never Looked So Good

PicLens from CoolIris is a cross platform browser plugin that enables visual browsing on a range of major video and image sites.

I first reviewed the service back in June 2007, and the PicLens folks dropped me a line to update me on where its grown from there. Along with support for Flickr, Facebook, Friendster, Picasa Web Albums and image search results from Google and Yahoo, the plugin now supports YouTube videos as well.

Platform side PicLens now supports Safari and Internet Explorer as well as Firefox (although at the time of writing up to FF3 b5 but not RC1).

The video demo is above but it’s even better in use. Well worth a look.
