Cowboys Fans Petition Obama To Replace Jerry Jones

There are two things that the people of Texas want: To secede from the United States and to get rid of Jerry Jones. Dallas Cowboys fans filed a petition today asking President Obama to get rid of the team’s current owner.

The petition reads:

“We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch’s immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress.”

The NY Post reports that Jones purchased the Cowboys in 1989. He currently works as the team’s owner and the team’s general manager. Jones said earlier this month that he would have fired the team’s general manager if, you know, it wasn’t him.

The petition filed by Cowboys fans only has a few thousand signatures at the moment. It will need to hit 25,000 to warrant a response from the White House.

This isn’t the first time that a sports related petition has been filed on the We The People website. Ohio State fans petitioned Obama in an attempt to have their post-season bowl ban revoked. Needless to say, it didn’t work.

Do you think the Cowboys, who are currently 5-6, should get rid of Jerry Jones?
