Miley Cyrus has thanked her fans for the numerous charitable donations they made in honor of her birthday, according to Wonderwall.
The former Hannah Montana star asked her countless fans not to send her any gifts for her birthday. Instead, Cyrus asked her followers to make donations to a few of the charities she supports. Her fans didn’t let the singer down.
After learning that many of her supporters had contributed to the Starkey Hearing Foundation and Saving SPOT! Dog Rescue, Cyrus ventured onto her Twitter page to thank fans for all of their support.
“Thank you to all my fans who donated to starkey hearing spot rescue dogs for my birthday. y’all topped it again best bday present by far!” Miley tweeted.
Donations to the aforementioned charities weren’t the only gifts the actress received on her 20th birthday over the weekend. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) adopted a pig named Nora in Miley Cyrus’ honor. According to a spokesperson for the organization, it was the least they could do for her contributions to animal rights.
“PETA knew that sponsoring a rescued pig was the perfect birthday present for a young woman who spends so much time encouraging others to help animals,” Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman explained. “From promoting animal adoption to speaking up for cows who suffer on dairy farms, Miley never stops letting her millions of fans know what they can do to make the world a kinder place.”
For those who were busy trying to capture as many Black Friday deals as possible over the past few days, Miley Cyrus turned 20-years-old on November 23. The actress shared her birthday with Jersey Shore star and new mom Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
“So much BIRFFFDAY love!” Cyrus wrote on Twitter. “I wish everyday was like this.”
