International Kindle Begins Shipping October 19th, U.S. Version Gets Price Drop

The “Kindle U.S And International” version will begin shipping on October 19th and will feature download capabilities for more than 100 countries. The release of the International device will also result in a U.S. Wireless version price drop to $259.
The International version will retail for $279, only $20 more than the U.S. version, which sees its price drop from the current $299 level.
With that being said, why wouldn’t someone just pony up the extra $20 and have travel friendly capabilities?
Pre-orders are available now, if you want the U.S. Kindle it’s now called the “Kindle U.S. Wireless.”
