The new Evil Dead remake poster promises that the film will fill moviegoers with all sorts of terror, according to Cinema Blend.
The producers of the upcoming remake firmly believe their upcoming motion picture is the stuff of cinematic nightmares. Instead of simply stating that prospective viewers will be up to their armpits in horror, the studio is taking things one step further.
The new poster boldly proclaims that the Evil Dead remake is the “most terrifying film you will ever experience.” That’s a pretty big promise from a horror movie, especially a remake of a beloved genre classic. If the movie doesn’t deliver on the promise of its poster, then fanboys are going to have a field day.
To the film’s credit, the trailer for director Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead is beyond impressive. When the clip began making the rounds last month, fans didn’t know how to react. Given that most horror remakes tend to suck, genre aficionados had plenty of positive things to say about the project.
During a chat with the folks at Spinoff Online, Alvarez discussed the advice Sam Raimi gave the director while filming the upcoming horror flick.
“Sam [Raimi] always says this: ‘There’s a fine line between horror and comedy.’ You go too far, everybody starts laughing. You hit it in the right place, everybody’s scared to death,” Alvarez said. “So we were always trying to stand on that line. So sometimes gore can be very funny. It’s not that kind of gory film.”
Screen Rant reports the Evil Dead remake starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Elizabeth Blackmore is slated to arrive in theaters on April 12, 2013. The latest poster for the film has been embedded below.
