Marilyn Monroe nude photos will reportedly be included in a Playboy magazine spread honoring the movie star on the 50th anniversary of her death. The rare nude pictures of Monroe will be included in the magazine’s December issue, according to IBN Live.

Playboy’s Editorial Director Jimmy Jellinek had this to say about the Marilyn Monroe tribute:

“It’s really all about the collection and the way it’s composed. This is the first time we’ve shown the totality of our collection, from the beginning to almost days before the end of her life. It showcases the arc of her life.”

The Marilyn Monroe Playboy tribute section will also contain editorials b Kim Morgan, Roger Ebert, an excerpt from author John Updike, and recollections from Hugh Hefner, according to the Daily Mail. The famous photo of Monroe on a red velvet cloth taken by photographer Tom Kelley, was purchased by Hugh Hefner.

The Playboy magazine owner had this to say about the movie icon:

“She was the most in control when she was in the nude. What would be a position of vulnerability for others was a position of power for her.”

The nude photos begin with the early years of Marilyn’s career when she was a pin-up girl. A nude photo of Monroe taken by Lawrence Schiller is the last known naked image of the star ever taken. The photograph was allegedly captured just two days before her death. Some of the images which will be featured in the December Playboy edition include shots of Marilyn taken in her bed, by her pool, and on movie sets.

Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean Mortenson. She was found dead at the age of 36 in her bedroom in 1962.
