US Cellular Debuts $40 Unlimited 4G LTE Data Plan

US Cellular on Monday rolled out a new unlimited 4G LTE plan which offers unlimited high-speed mobile data for just $40 per month.

The plan is a special which will be available through January 31, 2013. Customer who wish to take part in data tethering will need to pay an additional $20 per month for a tiered hotspot data plan.

US Cellular recently announced plans to deliver 4G LTE to 58 percent of its customers by the end of the year.

The deals don’t stop there. US Cellular is also offering a $100 rebate on various smartphones including the uber-popular Samsung Galaxy S III and the Huawei Ascend Y.

The mobile carrier is also offering a free Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot for customers who purchase a smartphone or tablet.

While unlimited data may be available, the company did not say whether or not some type of data throttling would be implemented for high data consuming users.

In a press release for the new program, US Cellular proclaimed:

“In addition to these great deals, U.S. Cellular customers get a better experience all year long, with unique benefits like the only loyalty rewards program in wireless.”

While AT&T Wireless and Verizon Wireless have chosen to charge customers based on data consumption levels, many regional and smaller national carriers have gone after customers with the promise of unlimited data plans on newer 4G data networks.

With tablet and smartphone deals, the option for a free hotspot device and rather cheap mobile data plans US Cellular could be a winning strategy for its future.
