Joe Biden made a brief appearance on Parks and Recreation last night.
The cameo occurred at the very beginning of the episode when Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is day dreaming about becoming the next President of the United States outside the White House. Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) arranges a meet-and-greet with the Vice President and Knope is just a little star struck.
Biden has been mentioned frequently on Parks and Recreations as Leslie Knope’s sexual fantasy. In one episode, she describes her ideal man as a person who has “the brains of George Clooney and the body of Joe Biden.”
Well, Knope nearly caved into her urges when she shook the vice president’s hand. Knope calls Biden a “very handsome man” and even leans in for a kiss.
Knope also volunteers herself to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
Biden’s cameo was filmed over the summer but was kept secret until last week. According to executive producer Michael Schur, there are a lot of rules about television appearances during campaign season. If word got out about Biden’s cameo, Parks and Recreations would have had to offer Paul Ryan a similar guest spot.
Here’s a video of Joe Biden on Parks and Recreations.
What did you think of Joe Biden’s cameo? The vice president has hinted at a run in 2016 but maybe he should focus on a career in television.
